you show how little you know about me based soley on the fact that I said Eminem was a rapper who's lyrics are unique, and style is different from any other rapper. I merely said that I thought it was interesting that he managed to be such a successful artist considering he, unlike all the african american rappers, doesn't say the word N*gger after every line.
make the long story short about your history...just tell us you're white, and you got a tan. Hell i'm from southern califoria...same could be said about me.
Whether you want to admit it or not....good music is judged by sucess. Eminem, though i hate to keep bringing him up, is a more successful rapper than your so called "underground" hip hop artists.
News flash...it isn't underground if everyone's heard of it. Unless you spend your friday nights in some Hip Hop club where people make a name for themselves by using their musical talent.....then what you are listening to is mainstream hip hop.
And for all you Nas lovers out there, he sucks. He's got good lyrics..but a poor rhyme scheme and a horrible voice. Hip Hop sucks because you don't need to be a vocalist all you need to be able to do is talk fast.
Classic Rock....owns Hip Hop. Always has....always will. Keith Richards will see to that.
tell me, how are eminems lyrics unique when he bites other rappers such as Masta Ace...you didn't know that did u...so now u know...and who said he doesn't say ******? he can he just doesn't want to cuz he's not black...blacks might find it offensive...(but thats my point on the niggerr part)
**** no, im not white. my skin color isn't even close to white nor black.
and underground artists are successful...who said they aren't? making money doesn't mean youre the best...
yea Nas does suck in my opinion. but illmatic is a classic to others. i just stated nas being best in the mainstream. doesn't mean i like him. he's not even on top 10. ahahahah
and have you ever been to Tower Records or any other place where they sell albums.....****ing filled with underground albums....i dunno i really like the INTELLIGENT, WITTY, UNIQUE style lyrics the underground has to offer....if the mainstream offered that, sure i would listen too.

you said making money is a great success which shows artists are great.
50 cent- in da club has to be one of hip hops most disgraceful songs
and have you heard the latest verse for Eminem on the Lean Back remix....wow thats worse than 50 cents verses
"In Da Club"
[50 Cent]
Go, go, go, go
Go, go, go shorty
It's your birthday
We gon' party like it's yo birthday
We gon' sip Bacardi like it's yo birthday
'Cause you know we don't give a ****
It's not your birthday!
[Chorus (2x)]
You can find me in the club, bottle full of Bud
Mama, I got that X, if you into takin' drugs
I'm into having sex, I ain't into making love
So come give me a hug if you into getting rubbed
[Verse]
When I pull out up front, you see the Benz on dubs
When I roll 20 deep, it's 20 knives in the club
Niggas heard I **** with Dre, now they wanna show me love
When you sell like Eminem, and the hoes they wanna ****
But homie ain't nothing change ho's down, G's up
I see Xzibit in the Cutt that nigga roll that weed up
If you watch how I move you'll mistake me for a playa or pimp
Been hit wit a few shells but I dont walk wit a limp
In the hood, in L.A. they saying "50 you hot"
They like me, I want them to love me like they love 'Pac
But holla in New York them niggas'll tell ya im loco
And the plan is to put the rap game in a choke hold
I'm feelin' focused man, my money on my mind
I got a mill out the deal and I'm still on the grind
Now shawty said she feeling my style, she feeling my flow
Her girlfriend wanna get bi and they ready to go
[Chorus (2x)]
[Bridge]
My flow, my show brought me the dough
That bought me all my fancy things
My crib, my cars, my clothes, my jewels
Look nigga i done came up and i ain't change.
[Verse]
And you should love it, way more then you hate it
Nigga you mad? I thought that you'd be happy I made it
I'm that cat by the bar toasting to the good life
You that ****** ass nigga trying to pull me back right?
When my junk get to pumpin in the club it's on
I wink my eye at ya *****, if she smiles she gone
If the roof on fire, let the mother****er burn
If you talking bout money homie, I ain't concerned
I'm a tell you what Banks told me cause go 'head switch the style up
If the niggas hate then let 'em hate
Watch the money pile up
Or we go upside there wit a bottle of bub
You know where we ****ing be
[Chorus (2x)]
[Talking]
[Laughing] Don't try to act like you ain't know where we been either nigga
In the club all the time nigga, its about to pop off nigga
G-Unit

Wow, that pretty much says it all. All music is for human beings. Race has nothing to do with enjoying music. If it sounds good, it sounds good.
I merely said that I thought it was interesting that he managed to be such a successful artist considering he, unlike all the african american rappers, doesn't say the word N*gger after every line.
Are you serious? No honestly, I have to know if you're kidding. Of course Eminem isn't going to say "n*gger" over and over, because (NEWSFLASH) he's not black. What famous white artists have ruled the billboard saying n*gger every other line? Or at all for that matter. The reason why he doesn't say it is because he has no reason to. If he did, he'd be the most famous racist artist ever.
make the long story short about your history...just tell us you're white, and you got a tan. Hell i'm from southern califoria...same could be said about me.
The guy says he's not white. Why would he lie about that? I guess you're trying to make some "point", and it'll all fall apart if he's not white.
Whether you want to admit it or not....good music is judged by sucess. Eminem, though i hate to keep bringing him up, is a more successful rapper than your so called "underground" hip hop artists.
FYI: Eminem made his name on the underground scene. His underground following is what got his career rolling. He was a superstar in the underground way before he was ever a superstar in the mainstream. Without his underground foundation, he wouldn't be who he is today.
You don't even know any underground artists. I can tell by that comment. Also, you have no clue what you're talking about. The "underground" is full of artists who can express themselves freely. That's the whole thing about being an independent artist. You don't have cheesy execs telling you what music to make. When you're in the mainstream and on a major label, you have no say. You can make the perfect album. An album that is exactly what you wanted to make. Then have the record label trash it and say they want you to be this. Or be that. There have been many independent artists who have turned down big deals with major labels. And why? Because they want to be able to express themselves freely and not have to worry about people telling you what THEY want you to make.
Example:
Eyedea - He's been on the independent (underground) scene for some time now. A few years back he won the Blaze Battle that got him world wide acclaim from hip-hop purists. Right after he was announced winner, Puff Daddy offered him a six figure contract on the spot... and Eyedea turned it down on the spot. Because he knew he would be turned into some jiggy bling bling commercial MC like the artists you speak of.
Atmosphere- Atmosphere has turned down dozens of labels for similar reasons. Also, they didn't need a middle man which is what a record label is. They have a very strong following and make more money independently than they would on a major label because they get all of the profit.
News flash...it isn't underground if everyone's heard of it. Unless you spend your friday nights in some Hip Hop club where people make a name for themselves by using their musical talent.....then what you are listening to is mainstream hip hop.
NEWS FLASH: You don't have a clue what the underground is. They're independent artists. That's what the underground is. So just because people have heard of you, doesn't make you "mainstream". Anyway, the people Hockey and I talk about aren't even well known.

and now why u saying N8gger if youre white? at least have the resepct to call it the N word. and no classic hip hop is soo much better. u probably based ur jusdement on mainstream hip hop now cuz otherwise i dont see hoe u can say that
Exactly Hockey. That didn't make any sense. He talks shit about hip-hop because of it's mainstream artists ( the most "successful" money wise), and then goes and says good music is judged by success. Hahaha, the irony.

I said it because it's a word, and because it was part of the discussion. I wasn't calling someone "the N word" as you would like me to refer it to.
I understand that you are African American and that you may be sensitive to that word, but please....get a grip...it's just a word.
And thanks for the lesson on what "classic" is...I wasn't aware there was such thing as "classic rap." I was under the impression it went by the phrase "old school" but maybe that's just me.
I base my judgement on which is better out of classic rock vs hip hop based on most poular artists EVER. Don't try to compare the Rollingstones to Dr. Dre or any other "classic" hip hop artist.
I'm a fan of the old style hip hip like Public Enemy, Ice T, BDP, Ice Cube, Master Ace, BD Kane, Cypress Hill among others. The rappers that ment alot to me growing up were Chuck D, Ice T and Cube and mostly KRS-One (i was blown away the first time i heard "blackman in effect"). Nowadays the beats and hooks are maybe "better" but the lyrics seem to have taken a nose dive IMHO. There are obviously exceptions as i'm sure you guys will point out. I like creative rappers that go against the grain instead of talking about cars, bi***es, gold, guns and killing. Sure Ice T and Cube were "gangsta rappers" but they also told a story in there ryhmes usually with a moral as well. Ice Cubes "bird in the hand" and Ice T's "midnight" and "escape the killing fields" are prime examples. Anyway as all the old school rappers i mentioned are still alive to my knowledge i'll choose anyone of them as my pick for #1 IMO of course. I'll let you guys continue arguing......peace.
