ok this sounds fun heres mine-

x-women( a mix of the avengers and x-men)

scarlet witch(w/ the avengers fallin apart she wanted to join the x-men)

callisto( left genoshe w/ archangel but joined storms team)
she- hulk( stayed with scarlet witch)

I'd take my favorites, of course: Firestar & Iceman. Why break up a winning combo? Add Spiderman (like in the 80s)

Gambit-espionage,thieving skills,blows sh*t up
Colossus-main strongman,nearly indestructible,doesnt need to breath

Nice question this is! So here is my teamlist, assembled according to powers, likelyness of good teamwork and ofcourse my gusto.

Team Alpha (allround emergency team)
a)Storm (the leading elementalist)
b)Colossus (the hot looking muscles)
c)Arcangel (the flying healer)
d)Marvel Girl (the psychic powerkid)
e)Sage (the psychic asskicking brainiac)

Team Omega (stealth and special operations team)
a)Mystique (the shapeshifting leader)
b)Shadowcat (the phasing techhead)
c)Nightcrawler (the cute "emergency exit")
d)Beast (the smart muscles)
e)Karma (the psychic; I took Emma first, but i guess she and Mystique would rip off each others heads rather then to take orders from oneanother and Karmas special form of telepathy would support such a team pretty well.)

Team Gamma (cosmic intervention team)
a)Havoc (cosmic energy absorbing leader)
b)Phoenix (no comment)
c)Iceman (omegalevel elementalist)
d)Polaris (controls one of the four powers* that are keeping this universe together)
e)Juggernaut (invincible muscles)

*gravity, magnetism, electric bonding force, nuclear bonding force
