Placebo fan made a big speech about being labelled and how she hates it. Well i know placebofan in real life, shes actually my best friend, im the punk shes refering to. But lately shes starting to get interested into other bands like KEANE. I told her thats shes starting to get into Indie, she was so happy that she was an indie girl i couldnt believe it. So it just shows that people can talk complete bollocks on these things spouting out shit that really has no meaning to them. So who ever says lets not have labels for things, why be on this forum that blatantly about a labelled type of music-punk- and we all know you love labels really.
most mainstream punk bands suck. like good charlotte, new found glory, etc. etc. the only good punk bands out there are punk bands that play at like 200 bpm's. and talented drummers and really ****ing cool sounding power chords not this "failure isnt flattering shit!"
I dont call 'new punk' punk, its pop or pop rock, they just had to give it a cool name to sell records. Its utter crap!
But... i used to hated greenday, they bored me and everyone called them punk when i thought they werent, but their new song, American Idiot, is so punk and absolutly amazing that i think they are really good!
there are always bands in any scene that totally suck ass, look at post-Rollins Black Flag, Youth of Today, Skrewdriver, Tiger Army, Agnostic Front, The Casualties, Anti-Nowhere League, and screeching weasil.

that most musical acts are fairly mediocre in any genre, truly good music is rare and hard to find.
