Just finished the Demon Cycle by Peter V. Brett. Excellent fantasy series, lots of action - if you liked the Night Angel trilogy by Brent Weeks I recommend you give the Demon Cycle a try.

Never let anyone else define you. Don't be a jerk just to be a jerk, but if you are expressing your true inner feelings and beliefs, or at least trying to express that inner child, and everyone gets pissed off about it, never NEVER apologize for it. Let them think what they want, let them define you in their narrow little minds while they suppress every last piece of them just to keep a friend that never liked them for themselves in the first place.

Pip and Flinx series by Alan Dean Foster. Loved Foster's Spellsinger books when I was a kid, so decided to give this series a try. Not bad so far, but probably aimed more at the YA market. However, it's easy reading and I love the worlds he describe.

Brutal book. My jaw has dropped on a few occasions. The most recent being when [SPOILER - highlight to read]: All the students were put through the passage. Making them fight to the death letting only 50% of them survive for the next trial was phucked. Felt bad for Cassius. His little brother getting beat to death by the main character sucks. Intense section.

Great minds... I just finished Red Rising and am busy with the second, Golden Son. If you think the first is hardcore you'd better hold on to your hat for the second one! Once the action starts it is relentless - I can't wait to find out what crazy shit our boy and his gang of maniacs is up to next.

I just finished Red Rising and am busy with the second, Golden Son. If you think the first is hardcore you'd better hold on to your hat for the second one! Once the action starts it is relentless - I can't wait to find out what crazy shit our boy and his gang of maniacs is up to next.
