memnoch completely rocks!!which part of the book are you in?it reallybreaks my heart,the ending,that book Lestat is put through so much!!

you've GOT to read Bloodcanticle after you're done!it is by far the best modern novel narrated by Lestat!!it's just there for us unworthy onesto bask inhis love and evilness and goodness

well let's see.he was made by Magnus against his will to begin with.he used to be of blue blood,if you get what i mean.then,something terrible struck the world of vampires - if you read Blood and Gold you'll get the full story.of even in The Vampire Lestat you'll get it i think.so basically what had happened was that the Keeper of Those Who Must Be Kept had decided to leave the King and Queen out in the sun,either to just see what happens or to kill vampires all around.they were rescued,with naught but a slight burn which gave them a bronze texture,but the vampires of the world got killed(the young ones) or charred til they were an inch from death (the older,stronger ones) so Magnus stole Marius away and made him his fledgling to go take the King and Queen away from the dangerous grasps of it's previous owner.
that's the gist of how he came to become a vampire.what else do you wanna know? i'd spend the whole day typing otherwise

i don't quite get what you mean buy blue blood, unless that's some metaphorical meaning to him ? now i get the part about the keeper, guards the king and queen. also, how often does this character come up in the books? almost as often as lestat himself?

blue blood's slang for aristocrat.

yeah well he comes up pretty often it depends on what boo you're reading i guess.some books involve alot of Marius but some don't have him at all.just like Lestat and the rest.it's sort of like an ensemble cast,with Lestat as the star,although each gets his/her fair share of time

yeah i know about that! it's for the Blood Canticle instalment of the Vampire Chronicles...now she'll never write again...damn those people!!!i personally thought it was one of her bst books!!just because she wanted to portray a more modern Lestat!! he's her character she has every right to put him in a modern situation! and besides,even if HE stays the same figure and looks all his life,the WORLD doesn't! and vampires are known to adapt!!she's sticking to what's inevitable!!but nnnOOOoooo there are some readers who'd rather have the wold stay in the 17th century forever
