A girl is bron spirit linked to a fox kit, but her father kills it. This results in a life of mysery for her. She loves a stable boy who is practicing illegL SWORDFIGHTING. one night he finds her naked int the woods, but he cannot touch her (by law before men and women are married) but he does, and he saves her life.
It is disciovered that she is no longer chaste, and he is accused of ravishing her. He escapes into the woods. It turns out she is pregnant, ab=nd she gives birth to stillborn fox kits.
She evntually discovers she had been changing into a fox (she is about 18 now) and she goes after maddock (the guy)
She finds him travelling with nages and an army that want the middleearth destroyed.
There are two other storied=s that lie in the background too, but I won't mention. They are good though. So real!
Really is a must-read!
Mickey Z Reichert also wrote flightless falcon.
