Rooney is just horrible
Incubus has turned into corporate stooges, diotto for The Offspring
Blink 182...::sigh::
Slipknot is in the same vein as Kiss; their gimmick happens to overshadow the fact that they make bad music.
The rest were pretty good.
Smashing Pumpkins are probably teh most underrated band of the 90s.
311...some good songs, but they just put out too much fluff on their albums.
Linkin Park are just plain bad.
Thursday..I don't know about them. I mean, I've heard them, but the last album was disappointing.
My favorites:

have to be said that I dont like Marillion after Fish(lead singer) left (1989), and I dont like the material Purple have put out after the 1975 Come Taste The Band album.
i lurve THE DARKNESS..i know u guys think they're krapp tho but its okay!!..and the drummer of TD rox mann...
i like three days grace and linkin park too, yellow card, oo and the rasmus too..woohoo..
but THE DARKNESS ROX ME SOX OFF hehehehe..sorry!!
what do you mean by fluff? i mean sure 311 has some not so great songs...but in general they've made many many great tracks...a lot of which are underrated in my opinion....
i disagree about linkin park
and thursdays last album wasn't so bad....i think they took a break from their "normal music" to basically let their political opinion out...i don't think it's fair to really compare it to the first one(but that maybe how i just see it) and after getting the new album i listened to it for months, someone about it just draws me in
and i agree with Tool, Weezer, At the Drive-In, and Sparta...and The Mars Volta are alright, but i don't think they can touch Sparta....both of em though should just go back to At the Drive-In
With a band, the only thing you can really do is compare their albums to:
1st) Their own previous albums; have they done something new, or are they just remaking the same album, ala AC/DC?
2nd) To their contemporaries who make similar music. ARe they progressing at the same rate, or are they just rehashing what these bands have done?
3rd) To bands of the past of similar musical styles. This is mainly for historical place.
So, War All the Time was nowhere near their first album; they regressed, which is always bad for a band.
