Sons of Rand

Sons of Rand

Ered sat on the wooden bench staring at the dark, starry night. He thought about when he was just a little kid. He would play around in the soft, dew grass in the morning, and the sun would be shining on his little village of Rand. His father would work in the shop all day making tools and weapons, and his mother would be home caring for her little children. Ered thought about his loving, fearless mother, and how she gave her life up for Ered and his brothers. They died fighting a band of Orcs.

“Ered? Hello? Come on time to go to sleep. We have a big day tomorrow,” instructed Aragronth, Ered’s older brother.

Ered and his brothers were going to leave their little, harmless village of Rand, and go to the Men Kingdom of Norira. Ered got up from the bench. He took one good look at the night sky. Walked slowly down the hill back to his little village. He looked suspiciously at the forest that was east of him. They say that there’s wickedness in the forest, also called, Parafaith. Yet, Parafaith never cost him harm, or the village.

When Ered entered his tent his overwhelmed, cheerful brother, Vogel, greeted him. Vogel was the oldest of the three, but acted like he was 10 years younger than Ered, who is the youngest. Each got into their cot and slept, and waited for their long day ahead…
Ered is the first to wake up. He gets up from his straw cot, and walks over to his dresser. He puts on his green, hooded cloak, put on his black boots. He walked over to his table, that is placed next to his bed, to grab his two swords called, Valadir and Vendin. The swords were already in his sheath so he just tied it around his waist. Ered walked into Aragronth’s, who was still asleep. Ered shook his head and laughed, since Aragronth was always the last one to wake up. Ered left the room to see that Vogel was ready to go hunting for breakfast.

“Greetings, Ered,” Vogel said, “How did you sleep?” Vogel said this while he was getting his boots on. He was wearing a black, hooded cloak. His long, white hair made him seem old, but in fact he can move just as swift as Ered.

“Greetings. You going hunting?” asked Ered in a sarcastic voice.

“Yes, we might need some extra food on the way there,” replied Vogel.

Vogel walked out of their tent, and saw that most of their beloved citizens that were also going to the meeting in Norira. He took out his sword, and headed out to Parafaith. He looked around for animal tracks. We bent down near a big oak tree. He saw a little imprint in the muddy soil. It looked like a rabbit foot. He went in for more inspection, and found that it must have been put not too long ago. “Where are you,” Vogel whispered to himself. Then something white and small caught the corner of his right eye. He silently pulled out an arrow from his quiver. Raised his bow and set up his arrow. He fired, and nailed the rabbit right in the back. He walked up and picked up the deceased rabbit. The white fur felt so soft and smooth on his rough hand. He headed back to the tent.

Here's a new updated part.

Aragronth! Come on wake up!” screamed Ered. Ered was at the foot of Aragronth cot shaking Aragronth legs fiercely.

“Just two more minutes, mom!” replied Aragronth

Vogel walked into the tent, and laid the rabbit down on the table. He put his bow on the bench next to the door, and walked into the room. “Come on Aragronth time to get up” Vogel said calmly.

“I don’t wanna,” complained Aragronth.

Vogel took his great, big hands and flung Aragronth out of his cot. “Are you awake yet?” asked Vogel with a more hoarse voice.

Aragronth sprang up, and ran to his dresser. Ered and Vogel walked out of his room, and started to pack up their horses. They owned four horses, which in that village was a lot. Vogel had a black horse named, Brook. Brook was a black hoarse with a big mane on the back of her head. Ered’s horse was a white stallion named, Eve.

Aragronth came out of the tent and said, “Greetings brothers.”

“What took you so long? I was getting worried,” replied Vogel.

“Well I lost my boots. Lets get going we don’t want to be late,” smirked Aragronth.

The three sons rode down the dirt road, and through the great oaks of Parafaith. They rode swiftly and silently. Their horses almost soundless on the muddy soil, and if you weren’t looking you wouldn’t know they have flew past you. Aragronth looked to his left thinking that he heard something, but saw nothing. Then he heard something behind him, but again he saw nothing. “Something’s fishy,” he said to himself.

Aragornth whispered, “There’s something out here, Vogel,” into Vogel’s ear.

“What do you mean? Have you seen anything, yet?” Vogel replied.

“N-” Aragronth was interrupted with the sound of a war cry. They looked behind them, and saw three Orcs were in the air ready to strike. Their swords were above their head’s, and about to swing at Aragronth, Ered, and Vogel. Vogel quickly took out his bow, and an arrow from his quiver, but didn’t have enough time to react. The Orc had struck snapping the bow like it was a twig. Vogel flew off his horse. Vogel hit the ground so forcefully that he was about unconscious. He just had enough strength to take out his sword, and parry the upcoming blows.

Aragornth jumped off his horse, and the Orc miss his death-defying blow, and landed on the ground. Aragornth spun his sword around like baton, and stabbed the Orc in the back. He turned around and saw Vogel barely parrying the Orcs blows. Quickly Aragornth swiftly grabbed his bow and an arrow and shot the Orc. The Orc went straight down, because Aragornth hit him right into the Orc’s head.

Ered didn’t know what to do so he grabbed his sword from his sheath, and jumped right at the Orc. Thengel crashed into the Orc and both flew almost unconscious. Ered was the first to get up, and walked up to the perilous Orc. When he was right at the Orc’s feet the Orc flew up, and jabbed at Ered. Ered jumped back to dodge the jab. Then Ered came right back with a quick slash at the Orc, and sliced right through the Orc’s skin.

“Ered, Are you okay? These woods are forsaken. We must be on full alert,” said Vogel.
