This truly is a great movie. Russell Crowe may an irritating individual off the set, and perhaps on the set. But this was masterful acting. I saw Gladiator recently (finally) after it came out on TV. That was another great one.
It was an intelligent movie. The first 30 minutes or so dragged a little. But bear with the movie, as the things portrayed in that part are important to the later plot development. A must see movie.
Anyone who hates Russell Crowe has to have some reason other than his acting.
i saw this movie and it didn't deserve to win best picture... Lord of the Rings should've won!!!!!! this movie sucked!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey i think that the movie was great, As a fellow math lavoer i can easily see how a person can live with their head. When there are not many people that you can interact with, life can be rather lonely, so it makes sence that ur brain will create a life for u and ur abilities.
This movie was perfect in showing how an abosolute genius can go insane and still have the capacity to help himself.
And futher more i dont understand people's problem with Russel Crowe...the man could act.....although i dont htink he was oscar worthly for the gladiator , he was great here.
If a person is an ass in real life that doesn't stop him from being a good actor.

I saw that movie after it won best picture, and I have to say LOTR FOTR was MUCH better. That movie was so boring. I love Russell Crow, he's a great actor, but this movie only one best picture because it was a true story. I'm sure the man's like was incredible, but this movie definitely wasn't. Everytime I tell someone this, they ask me if I really understood it, and look at me like I'm an idiot, but yes, I DID follow the plot, and it was completely unappealing to me.
I never watched this movie until this evening because I expected it to not be very good having heard many bad reviews. I have to say that I am sorry I haven't watched it before now as this was a very good movie and very moving, so much so that at the very end I shed a couple of tears as his speach was extremely emotional especially when you take in the whole movie. I can now see why this film won best movie and if I wasn'y doing my list thinkgy I would have missed out on watching such a well made film. Russel Crowe may well have his knockers but this was a sterling performance as the troubled mathematical genius John Nash.
If you have not seen this movie then do so at your earliest convenience. 8/10.
I completely agree definately one of the most moving movies I have ever seen. I suggest that you see the movie Secondhand Lions it's a very good movie despite what you may be thinking.
