because there were hella chapters where that wasn't the main issue. the manga changed to accommodate that but he still wants to become hokage (now he has to get sasuke back as a condition of that)
Just because there are chapters without it doesn't mean it's not the heart. The heart of One Piece, it's soul, is the journey. And in some chapters, they really aren't going anywhere. Detours from the journey and such.
This point was undermined long before that imo, back when it was revealled that Naruto had a nigh-limitless source of chakra stored inside him that he could call, on top of already freakishly large amounts of chakra just on his own. And then whenever he would get into trouble he would plot no jutsu his way out by transforming into the fox. Naruto was only a 'loser' at the very start. After that his innate advantages outweigh everyone not named Uchiha.

we all knew he'd eventually harness the totality of the kyuubi, but it's too soon; he should be like 25 or something with full use of the 9-tails
he didn't however heavily train his speed or strength, those things are just byproducts of whatever amp he's using. naruto should have come back after the time skip as a sage and through that he should have calmed the beast within
That's it, we need a chapter dedicated to Hashirama and Tobirama's fight. I feel bad for Muu now
Oh and[SPOILER - highlight to read]: Madara's Susano'o sword can apparently cut through matter . Oh and what's exactly stopping Kabuto from re-summoning all of these guys at Sasuke's location. Shouldn't he be out the Izanami loop once Itachi is gone?
Maybe Itachi is just hatin on Madara's awesomeness.
Also I do wonder what happened to that one Naruto clone with Kimimaro.

well while there wasn't that much fighting, getting to see Madara's complete susanno was pretty awesome. but with the edo tensei jutsu deactivating, I doubt he'll be able to do anything else unless Kishimoto thinks of some way to keep Madara still going. I doubt it, but you never know.
and yeah, like Q99 said, I don't think Kabuto will be breaking free of Izanami anytime soon even with Itachi gone.

Heh, I know. Thing is, he still managed to survive getting sealed for the short time they fought. If I remember correctly, the last we saw of their fight was Naruto-Clone throwing a Rasen-Shuriken
So apparently people are blaming Sasuke of all people for not stopping the Edo Tensei being released....
Which is just really stupid. Sasuke doesn't like Kabuto, doesn't want any help from Kabuto, and wants Itachi gone since he doesn't have any attachments to this world. Why would he want to keep it around?
People should really be blaming Itachi. What started out with an interesting premise was ultimately lackluster. The fight...well the Kabuto parts weren't boring but the Itachi part was. The interaction between Sasuke and Itachi....well it just disgusted me.
kabuto told tobi that in order to stop the edo tensei one would have to force him to make the dog, horse, tiger seals, and make him say "release". kabuto did a lot more than that
