He was revenge obsessed, but he still maintained his grip on his sanity, never lost his composure (again, until Susano'o FUBAR'd him). I'm not saying Gaara will flip out like Sasuke did, seeing as Gaara did not even know his mother, but he will still likely flip out to some extent.

Oh, another thing that makes me doubt the kurara-protection theory. The 2nd kazekage was said to have devised his iron sand technique to imitate a former shukaku host. So unless that host also had a magic mother, I have to include that shukaku probably had a lot to do with Gaara's powers, while he was jinchuuriki.
Seriously, where is it even stated that all of Gaara's Sand abilities came from Karura, like you seem to think we are saying? All that's implied is that Gaara's Auto-Shield comes from Karura.
It could easily be similar to Naruto and his parents like you said, but it could also be that Auto-Shield really does exist thanks to Karura. Like I said, the next chapter should clear this up when it goes into detail about Karura.

yeah, it seems to strongly imply that his auto shield is his mother's doing
i would go so far as to say that gaara barely ever used the shukaku to buff his feats. all it seemed to do was influence him (naruto broke that) and when he was asleep he'd slip completely into 1-tail mode. his partial transformations are completely different from his usual battle style, like when he faced kimmimaro he explained how he was able to do the avalanche thing (and his chackra was almost gone after the fight)

I'd think it's the "hostless beasts tend to fight like dumb brutes" factor.
I could definitely see Gaaradad, with backup from sealing ninja and similar, canceling out brute-force attacks for awhile pretty well. Gold seems like it'd be especially good for blunting strong attacks due to it's higher weight.
If they just clashed sand-to-gold, Gaaradad would be doing fine. It's that Gaara is dropping sand hail while also working his sand out of gold from below at the same time and similar skill feats that's doing it.
Real life? No-idea I understand it's possible for babies to survive younger and younger nowadays.
Ninja medicine is more advanced than ours in some ways, though.
Also, my daughter was quite normal in size (52 percentile) but my fist was bigger than her head. I could hold her and it looked similar to that photo (but she was a bit bigger.) I have big hands. So I could create that illusion.
What if the ninja had big hands and Gaara was small?
Anyway, so, yeah...I didn't see that being "wrong" in proportions. In fact, I remember a photo looking similar to that image meaning Kishimoto probably saw the same thing and just drew the image in his own art style.
did they ever explain why the 3-tails was on it's own? i think i heard something about that but i can't remember. it's weird cause madara was controlling the very jinchuuriki that housed it, so what happened?
I wonder how Yagura died. I don't think Madara would have willingly killed him. Likely he was assassinated, seeing as people have tried to assassinate him.
The 3 tails is dumb, and in the hands of a host, is supposed to be much more useful. Yagura was also Kage, and had the best control over a Bijuu until Bee, so he had both political and physical power in spades.
