hhmmm i dont realy call him a villian ,hes much different ,hes not your typical cut slash stab kind of killer ,hes realistic .its hard to call him a villian ,im sure you had trouble defining him to backfire but he is the best horror character ever.

he's a villian, its just that he's so much more complex then the other villians that its hard to put him in the same category with them, but he is a villian, he's the bad guy of the movie, he just has a kind of innocence to him.

yes thats right, innocence. he doesnt know that what he's doing is wrong, he thinks he has to do it to survive, he does it out of nessesity. thats why he kills people, if he doesnt he'll starve and get beaten by his older brother. and he actually has a personallity which is something that cant be said for most of the villians in other slasher movies. watch the movie again sometime, you'll see what im talking about, its not something you'll notice if you just watch the movie once.

horror movies are the best genre ,because they can be made by anyone with an idea ,an it doesnt take millions to make they can be made with a few bucks and a camera ,but other genres like drama can be expensive to make .and comedy is probably the cheapest to make becuase you dont need visual effects like gory horror movies but comedy you need good writers to make a god comedy.........i dont know why i said this or where im going with it but ......ummmm

actually you made a good point, how horror can be made by anyone who has an idea, its very true. just look at blair witch or bad taste.

Horror movies are probably the hardest genre to pull off effectively.
There haven't been too many great scary movies.

some of the best horror films are just basic ideas ,a haunted hotel,a masked serial killer,a haunted forest .. these are just a few .. but these little ideas are surrrounded by compilcated ideas like chainsaw massacre hs a masked killer ,but there are so many lairs to him its amazing .but now these new teeny bopper spook fests (i refuse to call them horror's) they try to over whelm you with a horrible complected story that is surrounded by simple characters
