I haven't listened to any new hip-hop other than that Diego Bernal album, but I'd highly recommend that. Lately I've been listening to a lot of Post-Punk, Minimalism, Electronic, and Ambient artists. Not much Hip-Hop other than what I already have.

So that Pacewon is pretty good, eh? I like Pacewon. I'll have to look for that album.

Oh, and the new Dilla release of course, but I know you've already heard that.

Ya the Pacewon is nice.

What do you recommend from Electronic and Ambient stuff. I'm always looking to branch out more.

Albums in general, or artists? I'll do both.

You can't go wrong with any of these artists: Brian Eno (his ambient work, obviously), Harold Budd, Loscil, Gas, Monolake, Oval, Seefeel, Tim Hecker, Stars of the Lid, Jan Jelinek... there are a ton. I'd also recommend Bruce Haack, one of the most orginal artists of the last 50 years.

As far as albums to check out:

Gas - Pop
Brian Eno - Discreet Music & Ambient 1: Music for Airports
Oval - 94 Diskont
Seefeel - Quique
Jan Jelinek - Kosmischer Pitch & his work under Farben and Gramm
Tim Hecker - Radio Amor
Stars of the Lid - And Their Refinement of the Decline & The Tired Sounds of Stars of the Lid
Every album Harold Budd and Brian Eno worked on together.

You should also check out some Minimalist artists: Philip Glass, Steve Reich, Terry Riley, and Gavin Bryars.

Check out Solo Piano & Glassworks by Philip Glass for sure. You won't be disappointed.

I guess no one cares about Music Discussion if they haven't replaced him. There is no law & order in this wasteland.

Just listened to the Slaughterhouse album.

Not liking it, except for 2 tracks. Shocking to see 3 talented guyz make a shitty album. I was expecting alot more.

Edit:

Also liked the Brother Ali track with Freeway produced by Jake One.

Thanks for the info.

And I have most of Phillip Glass's works. He's a genius without a doubt.

I'll avoid the slaughterhouse album then.

Oh, and check out Endless Summer by Fennesz as well. Really good album.

A natural comparison really;

To compare someone you've had a few run-ins (Which you generally started) and a few great conversations with, to someone who killed six million Jews based on race.

Haw haw, now we ze 'o laffs like ze frawgs, eh?

Pacewon and Mr Green coming out with a second album, 'Only Number That Matters is One'

Can't wait. Their first album is still in rotation.

The Music forum doesn't need a new mod, its not like anyone actively posts here any more, which is a shame.
