Gave the new K-os a listen. Good stuff. The new Ghostface kinda grew on me, still not that great. Brother Ali's new album was good.
But Felt 3 takes the cake. I had no idea Aesop Rock could produce in such a manner. The beats were spot on for the most part. Not as great as The Grouch's production on the first Felt album, but still a good listen.

The only reason I checked it out was because I used to like Joe Budden and never really kept up with his underground stuff. I heard he was a real nice MC, but I don't really think he's all that.
Royce, Joell and Crooked I destroy that record. Joell Ortiz has crazy flow but Crooked I has to be top five in the game at the moment. His verse on Lyrical Murderers is excellent. I always thought he was good, but he's really come into his own these past two years.
Ahh a hip hop thread where there are no bashers. I'm impressed.
Like most of the people here, I'm into the old school stuff and underground rappers. Over 90% of mainstream is pure garbage. Not all of commercial rap sucks though. Eminem is good, Jay-Z is okay, and Nas is one of the better rappers out there.
And I would like to say that anyone who is over 18 and thinks Soulja Boy is a good rapper(let alone thinks he can rap) cannot be taken seriously. Unfortunately I know some of these people.
He proves this with his freestyles and occassional songs. Generally, though, he does what suits the mainstream. For me, having the ability doesn't mean anything if you won't use it.
Also, I hate that voice he seems to love using. That Arabian one. It's dumb, the man needs to drop it.
Agreed with his often inconsistent production of music. And, yes, the voice is retarded. Hope he does indeed drop it for Recovery.
Meanwhile, I've been listening to Kid Cudi as someone at school recommended him.

Man On The Moon: The End of Day is an awesome album. Be warned that it's not your traditional hip-hop music and that Cudi isn't a particularly nasty MC. The album does have content and is cohesive though. The production is ****ing insane. Cudi is dope.
I know I'm late on this so what do KMC'ers think of this piece of work?
Walking around with a backpack, specs and "normal" clothing doesn't make you an intellectual or varied artist. Chicks dig him, though, so I don't think he cares.
We already have a Kanye West that sucks, we don't need more people like him.
