That's really quite the opportunity of a lifetime. I was always jealous of the dance roles, though, so I wanted to be in a dance troupe, but just took ballet. But it's over, actually.. I wanted to do theater, but the community theater was always musical theater. I loved my talented theater course I got into when I went to a public high school, though. It was easier than getting into the talented music there, and I wasn't even from the state.
I'm moving to Miami/L.A., but no rush, at all, however. Will you sport a college major in International Studies? History sounds cool, too. But you said you weren't going to college. Lots of people like majoring in things like Psychology/Sociology. Personally, I'm aspiring to film acting and making a "Miami" band since I have already given up virtually everything for that, too. I look forward to the fine dining when I'm out on my own. While you're at it, I was a Pre-Med at one point. Psychology and Sociology Pre-Med both totally rock. Research Psychiatrists have the coolest job, but it takes 2 years to get a Psychiatry certification after the 4 years of Medical School. I saw on TV a research Psychiatrist spent all day going around observing people laugh. Or you could even major in an art. Why not? Are you going to culinary school bc if you are I'm already like jealous. It takes a long time to figure out what you want to do next, even with part-time jobs. I still may do something else after/if I get tired of entertainment, however. I read this after:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_...f_music_lessons
A recent Rockefeller Foundation Study found that music majors have the highest rate of admittance to medical schools, followed by biochemistry and the humanities. On SAT tests, the national average scores were 427 on the verbal and 476 on math. At the same time, music students averaged 465 on the verbal and 497 on the math - 38 and 21 points higher, respectively. However, the observed correlation between musical and mathematical ability may be inherent rather than acquired.
Schools will advertise Pre-Med Music. My friend is already a Pre-Law Lit major. She hasn't changed it and will be in Law School next year.
