Just because tobey sighned up for 4 more spidey flicks doesnt mean they will be made. Kirsten Doesnt want to be in number three. Does anyone know why Rami decide against calling spidey2 the amazing spiderman? I know for the longest time he was going to label the movies like the comcs. Also in Cinescape, Raimi said he would like to incorperate venom and carnage, but wants to wait until he can find a away to do it without complete CGI. The only reaosn spiderman was so good is because of raimi, If he would leave the franchise, the films would not be the same. I mean look at batman, they were hysteria without keaton and burton

No, Robbie Robertson. Remember, back in the 60's they liked to give the same letters to the first and last names. Like: Peter Parker, J. Jonah Jamenson, Betty Brant, Robbie Robinson, Scott Summers (X-Men)...etc.
Eddie Brock WAS, in fact mentioned by Robbie Robertson in the first Spidey movie--a scene that took place in Jameson's office. I would assume they'll introduce or at least make mention of him again in the sequel. I'm a huge Venom fan, and am salivating in anticipation of Spidey3. Can't wait, but I guess I'll have to.
Initially I read that they were looking to make 12 spidey movies in total, but were focused on six for sure, assuming, of course that audiences are still receptive, and they will be. People can't get enough of the wall-crawler, and he's universally appealing.
I know for sure Venom will be in #3,--which I hear will also feature Carnage, though I'm not sure how they will be able to explain or justify the spawning of Venom's offspring so soon after his own introduction. It just all seems like too much for the average person to digest.
I think that in order for it to be really fathomable to fans, some continuity has to be preserved. Brock and Cleetus Kassady have a history together, a knowledge and familiarity with each other that needs to be entertained and played out, so that the viewers will understand the level of hatred that they feel for one another after Brock's symbiote spontaneously breeds Carnage. I just don't think they can gloss over all of that subject-matter and tell the story as effectively.
But, that's just my opinion--after all, these guys DO write movies, and I'm just writing this post. So, we'll see. Personally, I have very high expectations. The dilemma would be to be as true to the story as possible while keeping it fresh and making it appealing to someone who has never read a comic book. In the end, though, the success of the subsequent movies will largely be decided by true Marvel fans, the receptive audience who doles out their hard-earned dollars buying Marvel comics and merchandise. Everyone on this post is saying that the relase date for Spidey3 is 2006--I heard it'd be May 2007. Anyone know for sure? 2006 would be groovy.
How do you know for sure Venom will be in 3? Because you are a huge Venom fan?
No, it'll make more sense to have The Lizard, it's been said ten hundred times before. I'm a huge Venom fan, but like I said, I don't want the fanboys to make them put Venom in 3, when his story is a very slow burner, it cant be rushed. Brock and the symbiote should be in 3, but Venom the villain should take a movie to develop, and we'll see him in 4.
I'd rather wait and have Venom done PROPERLY than have the film makers please the fanboys by rushing out Venom to please the "omg Venom r0xorz!" people.
Why is spiderman in the movies called "Man-spider". Is it because his origin in the movies is different than the comics. Ihavent really read the comics so why is the one in the movie called"Man-spider" by some.
Long time browser, first time poster, BIG TIME SPIDER-MAN FAN!
As far as villians, there are atleast 2 you can bank on. Venom and the Hobgoblin. Venom.. thats like making Batman with not using the Joker. Plus.. Venom is in the same popularity class with the likes of Wolverine and Spawn.
Hobgoblin. Now why the hell would they have this on going storyline of Harry Osbourne hating Spider-Man and not go down the route of the Hobgoblin. They will have Hobgoblin and i believe this will be one of the best villians.
This how i see the rest of the movies going: Part 3-The Lizard. Part 4-The Hobgoblin. 5-Venom. 6-Carnage.. with Venom part of the story, maybe helping Spider Man.
However, because the Green Goblin suit was UTTER CRUD, I'd rather them make Harry The Hobgoblin (hey that even rolls off the tongue).
I suggested this a while ago in some other thread - and instead of bringing back Green Gobby - why not use the Hobgoblin instead.
Harrys Green Goblin was admittedly - crap, in the comics. If you want the next movie to be bigger than the last - then Harry as The Green Goblin isnt the way to go about it - not when you have the likes of Venom, Lizard, Mysterio, Scorpion etc waiting for their turn.
Also, Hobgoblins character was crap. He was just a thug. Combining Harrys human character with the Hobgoblin persona may change the comic material a little, but it would make sense for movie purposes completely - it's a change that would make total sense and would work even better.
Put it this way - in a few years, after we've seen The Lizard and Doctor Octopus on screen, possibly Venom - is ANYBODY gonna be excited to see the Green Goblin back (especially the cruddy movie version)?
What that? Change the Green Goblin costume for Harry? Won't work - Spiderman is supposed to think it's the original green goblin. They'd have to use the original Gobby suit.
To be honest - I'd rather see The Lizard then Venom. Much better choices for sequels in terms of story and fan-pleasing. Then, maybe Harry the Hobby sometime after. If they use Harry as the Green Goblin I don't even want to know, he sucked (really) in the comics anyway.......
Green Goblin is my second favorite character. It really pissed me off when a bunch of idiots said Goblin sucked in the Hulk vs Goblin thread. those guys didnt have any respect for THEE Spidey villian
They seemed like the kind of people who simply wouldn't listen to any arguement. Gobby would put up a fight, Gobby is the sort of person who knows how to really screw someone up. I could go into a huge arguement as to why Gobby would be good against most characters, but you probably already know how anyway.
It's getting increasingly hard to find people with any sense on these boards.
By the way, in the movies discussion (Van Helsing thread) some idiot called Aku called Spiderman a crap comic, for no good reason at all, just to start a fight I guess. I defended instinctively.
Go read it yourself to see what I mean about the sheer ignorance.
