lol i saw 3 actors from bravheart in that film lol.

to clear up in the UK (well scotland) we got a 40 minute intermission during Return of The King (not TTT or FOTR though), it happened when Eowyn and Theoden talk the night before riding to minas tirith.

anyways back to TROY, seen it on saturday and christ did I enjoy it, I didnt read any book or whatnot before it and didnt know what to expect.

it was hard to tell who was in the wrong, was it greed or love you were rooting for?

anyways

[SPOILER - highlight to read]: I fairly enjoyed the alarm of TROY being set off an the music simply uplifts when Hector looks outside and sees 1,000 greek ships sailing towards TROY.

Hector was bloody brilliant in the film, great actor and I couldnt get enough. I say he could of defeated Achilles if Achilles wasnt so raged up on love for his cousin

Paris was a complete...well "little girl" in the battle against Menelaus was upsetting as i felt pity and pathetic-ness towards him. The oath was broken by Hector and thats when he showed his true colours towards his brother. Too bad he was the one to kill Achilles

Achilles, well i felt weird towards his character. Brad Pitt did a good job but Achilles pissed me off that he was a rebel and whatnot. His men were loyal to him but just like his cousin, they wanted to fight in this great war! I felt the love he had for the cousin of Troy and that he was a noble man. 6 arrows, 5 in the chest and 1 in the heel of his foot....ouch

King Priam played a good character and had un-dying love for his sons and i couldnt believe he allowed Paris to simply let Troy fall by stealing Helen of Sparta!

Agamemnon was played by a great actor, I like the way he was filled with greed and thought of no one else, it was highly amusing seeing Achilles piss him off!

The first battle between the Trojans and Greeks was bloody brilliant. as soon as Hector stook the sword into Menelaus 50,000 troops charged on trojan forces and i cant believe the trojans survived it....thanks to their archers!

The beach battle was excellent with the attempt of killing achilles but on Hectors part it was achilles cousin......the greek king was right, "That boy may have just saved the war for us."

Troy was sacked far too easily, the trap was obvious and Paris was right "burn it father" indeed....when the trojan soldier seen the ships of the greeks on the coast round the corner i was like "holly shit" stick out tongue

Greatest Quotes:
[SPOILER - highlight to read]: Achilles: It's too early in the day to kill Princes.

Hector: I thought it was you I was fighting yesterday, and I wish it *had* been you.

Odysseus: People will look back and say "I lived in the time of Hector......I lived in the time, of Achilles" (my fave quote)

Discos - that will be all,

How can the director sleep at night after making this mess? Why do movie studios have to make a mockery of one of the classics of literature? It's simply distasteful what they are doing nowadays to great works of literature!

Onto the movie......well, there isn't much to say about this travesty! All I can say is the performance from three main actors was dull and not even convincing. Let's start with Brad Pitt! What the HELL is he doing in this film? I found his role as Achilles more laughable than dramatic. How long has he been in the movie industry and delivers a dull looking performance? I found him more annoying with his lines than with his sword fighting skills! No way! he just shouldn't be in this movie period! Eric Bana? Who? The guy that play the Hulk is doing the part of Hector? Someone please! Catch me I going to pass out! Orlando Bloom? He needs to beef up a lit before playing the part of a warrior again.

The only thing that kept into the movie was Peter O' Toole (Heavens sake! Mr. Lawrence of Arabia please don't do this again!!) I like him as an old king that believes in honor. He defetnely had the best lines in this movie.

Re-cast the whole movie, put some Gods, add Cassandra, change the director, and maybe possibly this could be salvage. Sorry this movie was a pain in the neck to watch.

And [SPOILER - highlight to read]: Get up Prince of Troy! I wont let a stone rob me of my glory!

possibly the best one

[SPOILER - highlight to read]: You wont have eyes tonight, you wont have ears or a tongue, you will wonder the underworld blind, def and dumb and all the dead will know, this is Hector, fool who thought he killed Achilles love

I tend to pay attention to Brad Pitt yes

I thought the film was great.Memorable battle scene betweeen Achilles and Hector. But I nearly cried in the end.

Is it just me or is Orlando really talentless?

And doesn't it seem like the director have an obsession with naked bodies?

hey everybody....sorry if i'm butting in, but i loved troy. About half way through i was getting a bit nervous that it wasn't going to be that great, but by the time it was finished i thought it was awesome. But i also don't really know much of actual story, and i know some ppl didn't like it cuz they messed up some of the facts...but that didn't really effect me cuz i didn't know much about it in the first place!

err..what r u talkin about. he was pretty much fit for the role. The character was annoying, not the actor.
I'm not much of an orlando bloom fan, but he's acting is pretty much competent......in any movie i've seen him.
