What's Ultimate Spider-Man about?
heard someone said the settings and plots are totally different
haven't read spiderman comics for a long time...need some updates

Well, it basically starts same as 616 Spiderman, but it has many differences. Etc. The Ultimate Green Goblin is a hulking monster, villain origins are different, some characters look different...you get the point. It is a good comic in my opinion, so you should read it. You can read first 3 comics from here.
