I thought it was the worst of the three movies, if not one of the worst movies I've seen this year. (C'mon.."Soul Plane" would have been better). Too much is left out, too much is jumbled [SPOILER - highlight to read]: there is little to no relationship with the teachers, and you barely see the relationship between Harry and Sirius begin to form. Emma Thompson was wonderful as Trelawney [SPOILER - highlight to read]: but it would have been great to see her more than twice in the movie-it took the comedy away from her predicting Harry's death constantly. Plus, what happened to Hermione throwing a fit in her class? She did next to nothing in the movie at that part! There was way too much action, not enough down time to really develop anything worth substance. [SPOILER - highlight to read]: and what the hell was up with the children's choir singing from Macbeth in the Great Hall? That was just stupid! Noone needs to tell us that "something wicked this way comes" it's a HP movie, we already know! It was just bad. Bad, bad, horrible movie. I'm looking forward to a different director doing the fourth one, and possibly the scriptwriter getting off crack and sticking to the damn story.

Oldman was good, whoever played Lupin was as well, Dumbledore wasn't, but I'm a bit biased towards Richard Harris, so my opinion doesn't really count on that one.

I'm sure the next one will be better, though, because it couldn't possibly be any worse.

I thought it was really good actually better than the others...they left way too much out and it was too short...the second movie was 161 minutes and this was 141 not a big difference but it should have been longer...I didnt like the new Dumbledore the old one was more mysterious the new one is blunt and doesnt hide anything plus his hair isnt silver enough...Lupin didnt seem the way I would expect him to look but I got over that never could get over Dumbledore...they didnt explain enough stuff...stupid people who havent read the book would have no idea what was going on...

PoA was ok. If I hadn't read the book, I would have thought it was a good movie, but since i have read the book, I couldn't stop thinking about all they left out! [SPOILER - highlight to read]: (I'm just going to point out some things that no one else has yet) In the beginning Harry doesn't even mention the word Hogsmeade when asking Uncle Vernon to sign it, just that it was for school. Also they hardly say anything the Weasley's winning the money and egypt, and they didn't mention anything about Scabbers being ill. In the book everyone in the DADA class fights the Boggart except Harry and Hermione, 3 people fight the boggart and then Harry goes up against it. Never in the movie does it show Snape giving Lupin his potion, and makes you wonder what potion Snape talks about in the Shrieking Shack. Also, you never even see Cedric's face at all, or any other people on Hufflepuff's team. The also missed Christmas!! In my opinion, you can't have a HP movie with out Christmas, or any other holiday! well i'll stop complaining.

I thought that the Weasley twins looked HOT! Ron did too. Also, the new actors did ok, I'm not to good at judging how well people act in movies

On the whole, I totally agree, and this was the 18th movie I have seen in the theatre this year, including bombs like "Taking Lives" and "The Punisher".

I'll go ahead and make it clear that i haven't read any of the books, that said, I shouldn't have had to read any of them to understand the movie, and I feel as if I should have, atleast for this movie, given it;s numerous faults in playing the story out.

It was just jumbled, mundane, repetitive, and extremely un-exciting, and on top of that, anti climactic, especially in the final act. The payoff was non-existant! Boring would be a better word.

I think what will potentially hurt this film, by way of word of mouth, is that fans of the first two movies will NOT like this movie, especially kids who are used to to comical, fun loving predecessors, myself included.

It's abandoned that, in favor for a dark, "grown up" feeling, movie franchise. In fact, I feel betrayed, as if the movie franchise has sold out for the sake of a grown up audience, given the directing of the movie, trying to be "serious" in ways, focusing more on the characters and their evolution, than the movie in full.

Lets face it, the cuteness factor of the kids is what sold the first 2 movies, the innocence, and the colorful characters and antics! This is nothing more than a Wizards and Warlocks version of a Scooby Doo episode.

I just saw the movie, It was good. I thought the part where lupin played the music as they did that ridiculous or whatever spell was amusing. I think they could've done a bit more with the movie, but overall it was good! I enjoyed it. smile

Barf Harry Potter ....so many mistakes

Harry Potter 3....... so much time so many mistakes i dont know if it was the new director or what but there were so many mistakes in this third movie tht it makes not even look forward to the movies to come.

Harry Potter 3..............disppointed me especiially since a im a huge fan of it i mean come on..... i know they cant put the whole book in there but get real at least if ur going to make a movie get the plot right.

MISTAKES or stuff that got left OUT

1. harry receive the firebolt in the middle of the movie not the end and gets it taken away and given back in the end.

2. the movie totally missed the fact that ron and hermoine were supposed to be fighting during the whole movie until the end.

3. harry was also mad at hermoine at one point when she tells professor mc gonall that harry got that broom and they take it away because it might be from sirious black ( see mistake 1 also)

4. they forgot when professor lupin explains to harry the reltionship of him with his father and the point of who was padfoot, wormtail, promgs, and mooney(this was very important to the whole plot)

5. when harry gets the firebolt back he also gets a a note from sirious giving him permission to go to hogmeasde

6. ron gets a an owl[pigddeon] from sirious at the end since he didnt have scabbers any more

There probaly were more but im too mad to rember i dont reccomend that u waste ur money seeing this movie.

The biggest mistake in Harry Potter 3 was actually making the movie.
