I don't. All the other boards I belong to, there is no time limit.

Say someone is really keen on spelling, or phrased their post wrong. Should they see it the next day, they can't go back and edit it, because we're only allowed 15 minutes?

Everything on this board is subject to "abuse". How many instances were there, and when, that took place that led to the decision to do away with self deletion and editing of posts?

I'm just curious, especially why we can't even edit our own user names.

erm... you CAN edit your own user name

and it is clear there is a very good reason to why there is a timer on it, been explained here I believe
to be totally honest... this is kmc, you play by their rules, not by those of other boards
