She might have meant portraits around the school. The headmaster and headmistress portraits are clearly different.

I believe on of them said something to McGonagal in HPB, saying her name. I am sure that wasn't a catchphrase to be able to say ones first name, and I don't think she was in school when he was headmaster either.
