Just came back from seeing it, a great Spider-man movie. All the people running around yelling how bad it was probably doesn't have anything better to do.
Or they may just be people who want more out of films other than eye candy, Or they are spiderman fans who dont like to see spiderman fighting without his mask on whining like a little bicth

It's only bad to elitist. The movie is fine as is. Yes there were changes from the comics and some corney scenes, but all in all, it was great. People that ***** and whine that it didn't live up to standards:
a.) set WAY too high of standards.
b.) are comic elitists
c.) are just looking for things to complain about, since they have nothing better to do.
I've yet to see any REAL complaints other than "this or that was changed, it sucks!". If someone can actually articulate an idea and explain WHY it wasn't a good movie, I might actually appreciate their view.

Admittedly, there are some great bits. Peter's transformation was interesting to watch, if not just amusing, as well as his exposing Eddie Brock for the cheat he is. That was great! My main problem was with the introduction of Venom and the black suit as a whole.
See, Raimi didn't start work on SM3 with Venom in it. He wanted just Harry and Sandman. But Marvel said that he HAD to put a fan-favorite in there, seemingly as eye candy, and thus Venom made it to the script. His introduction with the meteor felt entirely too coincidental to be believed, but since it's a story about a living suit, I can let that slide. However, after the birth of Venom, the character seems to lose footing as a major villain. It's more like, "Hey, look, it's Venom! Everyone will love the movie now," and they failed to make him a worthwhile character after that. Origin was slow and methodical, but his demise was too soon. He didn't even prove himself.
A little fanboy problem I have with Venom is he was speaking in singular terms ("I" or "Me") rather than plural ("We" or "Us"). That's all I have to say about that. It was a minor problem that I let slide.
Another thing is the lack of use of Sandman. Marko gets about 5 lines and a monologue in the movie. If they really wanted intense action/drama, they would have focused on Sandman more. From the Sandman poster, we saw him protecting his daughter, and as straight forward as it can be, it could have been elaborated. What ailment had his daughter contracted? Who could help her? Could Spidey help Sandman get her the procedure she needed? This would have been great to see, and it would easily snap Pete out of the black and white world he had been seeing.
Gwen Stacy. She just seemed to be the biggest throw away character of the movie. It's definitely too late in the game to toss her in the mix, but that's what they did. Howard played the role to the best of her ability, but she just didn't seem important. Sure, she's a big name in the comics, and adding her in the mix builds some drama between her and Peter and MJ, but Gwen never felt thing one about this drama. In fact, we never saw her side of things. The only time she was used was as a damsel in distress, or just another pretty face to make MJ jealous. If they wanted to add Gwen, they should have made us care about her. Same with Captain Stacy.
And what were they doing at Harry's funeral? Neither of them knew Harry, and we are led to assume that he wasn't discovered to be the new Goblin by the citizens of NYC, so what is their business?
The ending I felt was a bit off as well. No definite wrap up, we never find out if Peter gets the guts to propose, nothing! Sandman escapes, doesn't even try to turn himself in, Venom dies, Harry dies, and Pete wins MJ back so easily? Please. If they wanted a strong ending, Harry would've died (wouldn't change that for the world); Venom would have escaped by the skin of his tongue; and Sandman would do the responsible thing and turn himself in, while Pete pulls strings with Doc Connors and his influence to get Penny Marko the treatment she needs.
Again, there were great parts: Harry and Peter had some really great scenes, the first scene with Brock and Captain Stacy was pretty funny, with the addition of realizing later that Brock and Gwen were never dating; Pete's fights with Sandman were great, as well as his rage at finding out the cops missed Carradine's accomplice. The main problems were Venom and the Stacys. Remove them, and expand upon Sandman, and you have a great movie.
The use of Doc Connors was very important to the storyline, but again I found myself not caring about him at all. We never see him working on the symbiote at all, except in one scene. Connors was fine in SM2 because he just had to set things up for Otto Octavius, and wasn't needed. In SM3, he's should have been the one to figure out the weakness of the symbiote, rather than only telling Pete about the strengths.
Of course, that could be because he's "a physicist and not a biologist." I'd like to see them explain that HUGE canon flub away if they ever attempted to introduce the Lizard. Curt Connors is a Herpetologist, or one who specifies in the biology of reptiles. Not sure why they made him a physicist in this, but oh well. It's just a little annoying.
Finally, you have an attempt to demonstrate the genius of Peter Parker. Yeah, he's a head-of-the-class scary smart student, but they never really expand on it. I mean, if this guy knows so much, he should be looking for Venom's weakness after that monstrosity appears. He should be working on it with Connors! But no, instead they leave it up to luck and coincidence. It's kind of an insult to the character's intelligence. I know it's not in the movies, but this is the kid who created a molecular adhesive that is tensile enough to hold a semi truck in mid-air, yet it dissolves in two hours! And he made it in high school! Give the guy some credit!
I'm a little confused as to if you mean the Symbiote itself of after it bonds with Brock. But let me talk about both. Take into consideration some things: he was under the influence of the symbiote first and foremost. That in and of itself could be a key reason he wouldn't be trying to find it's weakness. Not to mention, while wearing the Symbiote, he was fully aware that it was alive and rather enjoyed its' "gifts". Due to that, initially, why would he want to find its weakness?
As for while it was bonded to Brock: Lets look at the situation at hand. Peter's reason for being in that fight wasn't even really to fight Venom. In actuallity, it was to save MJ. That was his main priority, with Venom and Sandman's defeat being very low on his list in comparison. Once he was assured that MJ had reached safety, he went full on (with Harry) in battling both Sandman and Venom. I think that once MJ was safe, he did try to find Venom's weakness rather fast.

Okay, I'll give you that one. In my opinion, it would have been better to make Spider-Man 4 (if they ever got around to it) about Venom, if not both the black suit and Venom. They could have elaborated more on Eddie Brock weasely persona, as well as maybe add more characterization to Venom rather than psycho-monster looking for revenge. That's just scratching back one layer of a multi-faceted personality.
all i have to say is while i enjoyed the movie lackluster is all i can say in review, i don't know what happened when they were putting the script together but to me this one fell kinda short. The amount of sappy expressions and crying through out the movie was a bit excessive and should have been used sparingly, as is with peter's dance scenes. Although to me if they wanted to do the whole "mj is kidnapped" theme again then they should not have done that in the first two. Although i liked the portrayal of the sandman in the movie which bares closer to when the sandman was converting to a good guy, making him a direct connection to peter's origins was a mistake, it changes the whole scope of things. Now as for venom..... I must say I feel completely let down. Topher's performance just didn't stick to me. I didn't feel the anger and hatred for parker/spiderman that is a custom to venom. Also while i could deal with venom not being as buff as usual they didn't even include his tongue (which for every venom fan out there should be a big deal). Oh and one final sour note in the movie was pete's lack of a spider sense. He took a whole lotta blows in the movie that we all know he shouldn't have most evident of this was both times when peter fought harry. On the lighter side J.K. Simmons's performance of JJJ was hilarious as usual, and the rest of the bugle staff was on point too. I liked the drama and troubles of peter and mj's relationship, they really went through some hard times here which was also kinda like the comic. All and all I think that the movie is a fair one and it kinda suites spidy when you think about it. His luck is always flip flopping so i guess one bad movie only helps to ground the character to the every day guy which is the major part of his appeal

they should had made 2 movies with split stories like spiderman 3 about sandman and harry, and intro do venom, and spider man 4 about venom and lizard maybe, release on movie on summer and the other in the end of the year but nooooooo, lets cram all in one piece of shit and get the most buck out of it.
He's Bruce Campbell, the greatest B movie actor ever and he appears in every sam raimi movie as does sam's beat up old delta 88.
