I dont want just some costumes. I want specific costumes. I want the next spider-man game to have the same bonus as the first spider-man game to PS1 had. I want all spideys costumes, Scarlet Spidey, symbiot spidey, Spidey 2099 and Ben Reilly's costume ect...And I WILL find it a very big minus if spider-man 3 doesnt have that bonus.
Game 2 had near perfect Web-swinging animations. But will still have to improve them so they look even more like the game, meaning more swinging animations. And I dont understand why it should look so stupid when you wont let go of the web-line until you have made another one, and why you cant shoot a swing-web-line while sticking to a wall.
I really really like the sprint crawl animation, but there should be more crawling animations than just only two.
More acrobatics, and not only while swinging.
An whatever happened to the classic spidey-hanging-upsidedown-from-the-ceiling-in-a-web-line stunt? It was in game 1. Why discard it, when it was so cool?
And what the h... was that with the petty crime fighting all about!?!
How in the world can a person dodge spideys web without super reflexes!?! That web is almost as fast as a gunshot! NO petty mugger can dodge spideys web! And how can a simple mugger block spideys attacks too!?! Sure he throws his punches but its totally ridiculous that it will take 5-7 punches for spidey to knock out a normal person! You will NEVER see that happen in the movie or the comic books!
A lot more of stealth and interior environments are required.
After you finish the game theres really not much fun to come back to. Therefore the extra costumes are almost a must. And make a random weekly supervillian-day, or monthly maybe. Longer storyline.
Make the web feel alittle, just alittle more elastic.
No way can a normal person get out of spideys web-entanglement. So dont do that.
More atmosphere. Do it so you will feel like a stalker at night ect...
Some talked about being able to pick up cars and stuff, and I totally agree.
Enable one to grab a mugger or bystander while swinging, and Im talking about grabbing him with your hands and not your web.
The way spidey walked and ran looked stupid. Maybe use more motion-capture ingame.
Why do a person with the strength of a giant spider have to use 10 punches to destroy the roof of a car?
More freedom as Peter Parker. Enable one to change whenever you want. And I think it would be cool if spidey will get tired. By that I mean he will get tired at the end of the day, making him more and more tired and less battle effective the more days he stays up in in row. So he will also have to get back to his apartment to sleep. But that requires the cycle between day and night to become a lot longer. And better Daily Bugle jobs. It didnt make sense to take pictures at rooftops and other places where no normal person can get to.
More dodge animations.
Enable swimming as some has already requested.
Thats all the details I have thought of to improve these games. The most important for me, is the additional costumes. Sorry for the long post.

I like the idea of other marvel heroes but not the x-men they are have their own game. I would suggest Daredevil, Captain America, Iron man, The hulk and maybe the could have the FF and the avengers bases in the background. That would be awesome.
If theres anything that needs to be improved its the controls. I'm not saying that the ones now are bad but there were a couple buttons that werent even used (the left and right d-pad which one of them could have been used to recenter the camera).
In the gamecube version you had one modifier button and that was the L button (also known as the sprint button) that was cool but the Z button which was located just above the R button was used for a very simple task and that was to recenter the camera. If we had used the Z button, R button, and L button to modify the A,B,X and Y buttons, we could have 12 different functions (3x4) and from there you could even combine the modifiers and get more that way too.
I realize if its too complicated than some people would not approve but here are some things i would have liked to have. One move, although isnt that useful but its still awesome, is the yo-yo spidey from the first game. I also miss the web zipping from the first game.
Another thing that would have been nice to have is to be able to attach a line below spiderman or directly horizontal (which could have been done using modifier buttons) because if I want to make a 90 degree turn i have to wait until im below an anchor point that means that when i make the turn i will be flung up to and itll throw me into direction i didnt want to go into. Also if i want to look down immediately i dont want to have to scroll down because it takes to long. If we used a modifier button with the C stick we could make an instant snap up down left or right.
Something else that bothered me was the camera never stayed locked at a certain point of view from spidey while i was swinging. It always wanted to recenter behind him (which was nice most of the time but not all of the time) or when im stuck on a wall and i want to look around i had to hold the c stick down (because it would snap back) which would make it go too far sometimes and it made it hard to look around. Once again one of the buttons could have been used to lock the camera in position or something.
I hope that makes any sense to you guys. lol.
Thats what i think as far as controls go. Thanks
I completely agree with dippedappe on making the web feel a little more elastic. That would be killer.
I also agree with being able to be sneaky too. Badass.
Swimming and diving maybe even times where you have to be underwater and explore. Save someone from drowning or someone lost a possesion. Maybe if there are bombs or something placed underwater or something that you have to disarm. Attach on the underside of a boat. Make a exploration token set for underwater.
Attach to a speeding boat and go water skiing! Get some air on the waves! Or it could also be a speeding boat thats out of control and you have to catch up to it in a time limit. Trade the swing button for when your in the city to the attach button for when you attach to a boat.
Make everything. Make this the best game of the decade!
Get all of New York:Queens, Bronx, Brooklyn, of course Manhattan. Explore more buildings. Different types of crimes. Airplanes too. Make the trees bend because of spideys weight when you swing on them and have them slingshot you. Have the biggest variety of moves and techniques that will take you hours to master. Have natural disasters like hurricanes, earthquakes, or tsunamis. That might be too much lol. Save people from a burning building. Kidnappings. Save a hostage from a crazy person and try not to hurt the hostage.
Make 10 foot spider webs suspended between two points like a building or a post that you can attach enemies to. Instead of beating all the bad guys up, win more points by tying them up and leaving them for the cops to question or something. Have reputation rating that you can earn which means that if you beat peds up or something like that than you will get a low rating and cops will not aid you as much or not show up at all to assist but if you have a high rating the cops will assist you in a crime and get more points, you get the idea.
Different types of pedestrians, different types of cars, homeless people, people that dont like you can hit you or something, while your swinging around the waters you have to watch out for seagulls. If you see a construction site, there will be workers there and you can offer to lend a hand. Interact with peds: pick them up and carry them. Have a news team (from daily bugle) follow you if your nearby. Go to a hoddog stand have have a snack. Hobos.
Put more poles on the buildings because its kind of boring that 99% of them were at ground level.
A tweak on the slingshot move is you could attach two lines without having to be in the air first which means you are still standing and you can back up far and then propel yourself!
You can also shoot a web shot that will do damage like in the first game!
If you want to attach to a certain thing put a targeting dealie like use Z button and A button to target a post, and the Z button and B button to target a pedestrian. You have side winds to watch out for when you get up really high.
I also like the Peter Parker idea. For one scenario where it can allow you to make money to take a ferry ride somewhere or something. Solve not just crimes but say look out for something that someone has lost and keep it in your inventory until you find that person or something.
Im probably overdoing it but if this were to happen i dont think theres a person out there that would like this game in some form or another.
Tell me what you think
Good ideas dmhartoon. Maybe just a tan over the top , but I like them.
I dont know if you all have heard, but there are 3 Spider-Man games coming up. 1 this year, 1 next year and in 2007, Spider-Man 3 will be released. The two other games are from the info I have seen, going to be named, Ultimate Spider-Man, and Spider-Man Classic.
Im not sure which one Im looking forward to the most(But I think its Classic. The name almost screams of the Ben Reilly costume ).
But with all these upcoming games, we are bound to see atleast some of the ideas we have brought up.
who told u they will do spiderman classic? BULLSHIT! they are making the ultimate only, and tey cant make te sm3 cos the movie doesnt even has a script@!!!!!!!
Dippedappe and Jimmy Buggs just posted stuff about a classic game based on the comics, and rumors are flying around about this game.
Spider-Man 3 & Ultimate Spider-Man are the only two games to have been claryfied. I dunno who started this rumor but if it's true then that's all cool.
Eitherway, they next few years are gunna be awesome for comic-book video games.

Acctually, I think Batman will be the best of them all. The cut scene grahpics look awesome, and the gameplay is state of the art. it's Splinter-cell meets Batman. Plus, it's not a stealth game, it's an intimidation game.
