Symbiotes are asexual creatures... they don't have a sex themselves.
I'd venture a guess that they take on the characteristics of whatever sex their host is...
(Which could be one possible explanation on why Ann Weying went insane after bonding with the symbiote; it had only been a part of males up to that point and was bonded a lonnnng time to Brock, too...).

Yes i think i said that in a earlier post but your right. They are asexual thats why they can spawn off spring.

__It seems clear that they don't take on sexuality OR gender, though they can perhaps be sensuous...?
__I think Ann, like Beck, had an issue with violent impulses, not with sexual ones.
__Overall, the symbiotes seem to have more influence on their hosts in terms of transferred appetites.
__Brock, as a former athlete, Spidey, as a superhero, and Kasady, as a violent sociopath, all had experience with physical aggression. That seems to be the necessary experience in order to deal psychologically with a symbiosis.
__So why do more men than women tolerate symbiosis? Very few women have embraced violence as an aspect of life...Donna broke from social expectations and pursued a more aggressive approach to life than Beck and Ann, I'd assume.
__They both seemed to be people who wanted to solve conflicts with understanding, or failing that, negotiation.
__And along comes something that wants to eat human brains...
__Now, Orange, I know where you're going with the idea, I think. You're wondering if the symbiote imposed "masculine urges" on Ann, and don't think I don't appreciate the possibilities- however, I'll just never be able to really buy into it. They're so obviously asexual, one, and two, sexuality is somewhat cultural even in humans- so we're talking about a species that lacks both our biology AND our culture and seems to have its own strong drives. Then it finds a way to not merely appreciate what it can feel THROUGH us but also generate that feeling for itself? Too much for me! However, if you write it...you know I'll read it. I may not be convinced, but I'll be entertained.
__In fact, I think it's a downright fun idea.
__Say, have you read Venom: Run? What did you think of Frankie and Vic and their conditioned desire to "go get some?" Very positive charactor trait, that level of enthusiasm for a union. I also enjoyed the fact that one of them refered to Patricia as "Cutiepie," and suggested they "deal with her later..."

Well I wasn't really referring to it as "masculine urges"... it's a well known fact that males and females have different hormones and cellular structures/dna. I realize symbiotes are capable of adapting to their hosts on a molecular level, BUT... if you consider the short amount of time the creature had to actually join with Ann during the "Sinner Takes All" series... (not to mention she was the first female it had linked with...)
You can see what I was getting at.
Also, if you go back and look throughout the books, you'll notice the costume didn't WANT to go to Ann on several occasions. Brock actually had to talk the creature into linking with her several times. (Sinner #2, Sinner #5). My hypothesis on the reasons behind it's reluctance are 1. It just hated being separated from Brock 2. It realized that being on Ann put her life/sanity at risk due to their hap-hazard initial linking 3. It saw how inept Ann was at coping with it's powers/abilities added to her and didn't want to risk Brocks life/trust.
Sorry I don't bother looking at, (much less reading)...any of the current Venom books. They're all crap as far as I'm concerned. Unless there is some GOOD art showing a pretty woman wearing a symbiote... I'm not interested.
I AM looking forward to Koto re-starting up his She-Venom stuff come March 1st... much more so then I would be of any of the comic book stuff.

http://d-drive.phalnet.com/ is Kotos website.
I've checked it semi-regularly for a long time hoping he'd get back to his She-Venom stories and art. Thank the heavens he is going to come March 1st.

Frankie, Vic, and PATRICIA: pretty! The art in the first half of the "Run" arc: GOOD.
__But the best reason to read this book was the plot, and the second best, the charactors. All actually INNOVATIVE, and how long since we've seen THAT in a comic?

Too true!
The Venom symbiote cloned from the severed tongue of the original, the (rather gratuitous and unrelated) appearance of Wolverine, as well as several cells of cloned women who are unaware of the existence of the others, appearances by the FF, Spider-man, AND Nick Fury? Nano-technology, cloning, and an evil plot by the head of the Ararat Corporation, all deeply involving and impacting an all-new heroine, US Army Communications Specialist Patricia Robertson. This story weaves a complicated and intricate web indeed. Who could ask for more?

I came across a Venom-Wolverine on a Deviant Art page...
I can't say I really like the idea but I suppose there is an audience for everything out there.

Well I guess I'm not most people then.
Sides this thread is about "Would you become She-Venom"...not whether or not Wolverine with the Venom Symbiote would be cool.
I got a question: Why haven't any african american woman been shown wearing an alien creature? Or for that matter, any other nationality other then white folks?

Well I DID post a commission I had done featuring an Asian Villainess acquiring the costume over on Scibots Yahoo.group... the artist never responded after the transaction was completed, otherwise I would have had him do a few more pages.
Ohhh and I also thought I'd mention I've been fiddling around with the Addventure stuff on superstories.net... mostly in the "She-Venom" related threads... go check'em out if you haven't.
