Bloom bags Bond role
The name's Bloom, Orlando Bloom
It’s welcome back to the Roger Moore-style of acting with the news that teeny squeal fodder Orlando Bloom is to play James Bond in a film about 007’s early years.
And for Roger Moore-style, read wafer-thin hammy acting rather than bushy eyebrow raising and snide remarks about ladies and their bits.
Bloom-banga-Bloom has been signed by Miramax for a film “about Bond’s college days" (which is American for university) after the Ian Fleming-inspired character was expelled from Eton.
It is not believed to be called Bond: The Early Years.
The distinctly-average acting talent of Florida’s biggest attraction (Orlando, not Bond) will be stretched to their absolute limits as Bond gets into all sorts of junior spy capers on his way through tertiary education.
Although the billboards will probably say something a bit more zippy.

PLEASE, for the love of GOD, tell me you're joking!!! Tell me it's not true!!! Tell me there is hope left in this world!!! Orlando Bloom as James Bond?!!! I ask you!!! Has the world gone crazy? Orlando Bloom is not a good actor people!!! He's downright AWFUL!!! He's wooden, and hammy, and just oh so WRONG for the part of James Bond!!! As Mugatu would say, I feel like I'm taking crazy pills here!!! Why can't people SEE this?!!!
And JB: the college years? What in the HELL are the producers thinking? This is possibly THE WORST thing to happen to the JB series in years!!! At least Moore had charisma!!! At least Moore was witty!!! I even liked Moonraker, for goodness sake!!!

yeah well... luckily, I consider bond directors sane enough NOT to choose Bloom to be the next James Bond
