Okay, so, I'm a litle late. I bought this game yesterday!

I bought it because I picked up FF9 the other day and beat it. I craved some Final Fantasy action. I like the gameplay a lot so far. I just beat that feckin' fire horse thing. Just to give an idea of where I'm at so far in the game.

I really liked this game, in my opinion without the hype it was nearly as good as 7.... now let me explain myself b4 everyone goes berserk. I played seven when it came out and recall the feeling it gave me, and I realize that it was my fixation on it being the 1st FF in 3d... Iknow that if I took that away, 7 may have been on par with 3.

Really awesome game. The best gameplay in a Final Fantasy game, yet. However, I'm still not sure if there's a difinitive antagonist yet. I love the game so far. I'm at the dungeon of the Valley of The Damned

got it in the first week of release. finished it in less than a week. did EVERYTHING humanly possible including beating of omega weapon.

verdict. IT SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is the WORST game square has EVER had the disgrace of creating. screw final fantasy, this has got to be one of the worst ps2 rpg's of ALL TIME.

i mean X-2 LOOKS GOOD IN FRONT OF THIS SHIT!!!!!!!! any 1 who enjoyes this should go KILL themselves. and this just might be the final nail in the coffin of the once greatEST final fantasy series of legend.

{btw, do NOT go by the reviews, they dont know what the hell theyr talking about and/or theyr paid off. it deserved a 4/10 at best}.

also the ONLY reason i even finished it was because of the name"final fantasy" there hasnt been one i havent finished.

Yes everyone, don't go by the reviews. Listen to some guy on a message board who abuses exclamation points and thinks people should die if they disagree with him and randomly capitalizes shit for seemingly no reason.

Game was good. A weak point in the FF series, but still good.

I don't even think it's a weak point. Squenix took a gamble in trying something new other than the tried-and-true Final Fantasy formula and I really feel they succeeded.

However, I STILL have yet to finish it. Every time I go to do so, I get distracted by some other game (current distraction is Prince of Persia so at least it won't be a long one as they're quick games).

If you don't like a game, don't play it just b/c of the name.

The storytelling is much weaker in this than in previous FF games. The gameplay is ace, the story and characters - which has been the main attribute of FF games since FF 6 - Was lacking and pretty lazy compared to others. Even after spending 50 hours with these characters, I found myself not giving a shit about them.

wow. alot of totaly untrue info on FF, but what ever.
Alot of you armchair game experts talked alot about FF onteh console but seem s VERY few of you know anything about teh game.
No really.

Alot of ragin on how bad they messed up teh advancment ofthe game.

First off it is a issue of platforms.
IF and alot of you HAVE NOT butIF you played FFXI online you would see the culmination of thier work.

Seriously IF you played it past lvl 40 then you would be aware of not only battle advancments but the story as well.
The game is doing so well they are releasing yet a Newer exspansion pack involving a new storyline.
I have all the FF games and it is true Some were better than others.

But to experiance the world of FF it can really and truly only be done online.
Not onthe console versions.
I say this becasue I played them all.
Have them all.
I have experianced the world of FF from many differant time frames and perspectives.
My first FF game was wehn i was 12 and now at 37 I have found this franchise to be very good at advancing.
Thier on line world is highly exspansive and Very detailed.
However as most did say, This is NOT a game for amatures or the spray and pray playere.
FF online is one of the Hardest MMO games to play and can take up to 3 years to complete the story.
(Not to hit top lvl but to go through the entire story)
It is not a game where it is possible to run trhough every area without dying.
Youd have tocarefully plan and even then walk with a gorup of at least 6 to get to where you want to go.
And yes this is at top game level of 75.

Seriously you can say you know everything about FF and flame things that bug yu about it. But if you have NOT played the online MMO, then you denied yourself teh experiance.
And further more if you ahve and only got to lvl 20 or something weak, you have not even seen teh intro of the story line.
Nothing reall happens untill you get to face the Darklord for the first time.
everythign up till then is just life in the world.

the newest update is supposed to have more dynamic gameplay which will benice for the online as it IS turnn BAsed. that will always blow chunkcs however as in games like City Of heroes the fun never stops as the game is alot faster.

FFXI probably the hardest MMO ever.
You need to be a REAL addict to play it and forgo all other MMO types if involved in it.
After 4 years ofplaying I take breaks every 4 motnhs form it to get reaquainted with new games and try other ones as FFXI is WAY to involved which is the oNLY bad thing I can say about it.
That and you need a LOT of time to sit and play it after lvl 40.

This thread is about FFXII (12). Not FFXI (11).

FFXI is pretty good, though. Played it for almost a year, I believe.

Errr, yeah, Final Fantasy didn't exist 25 years ago...

And as BF said, you're babbling about the wrong game here.

lol Yes I am 37.

post was about some ones referance to FF onoine mates. Sorry to not post teh QUOTE.
I forget where it is now, further back. BUt its not about FF online but th workings of the game and the Work of ALL FF previous brought FF online. (the details)

YES im 37.. as my site writes about, gamer majority is NOT teens. Its people from 45. (the generation who grew up on ATARI)
Sorry to tell you there are more adults gameing than kids smile
My one of my best customers buys a new game machine every 2 years. He is 83. Just bought new machine from me. Hes playing Halo and CSS BF2 and pre ordered his Unreal copy. This guy is a REAL gamer lol.

Hmm.. most hostility i see online is when adults and kids clash in MMO or FPS.. it's Always messy.

But for me. Game is all that matters in the end. have fun and keep your stick on the ice.

Hmm....After Dissidia I am craving FF so I am thinking about getting a PS2 and this game...is it worth it? If I ignore fanboyism for previous games will I like it? I'm good at doing that. Or is the game mediocre as a standalone piece?

I couldn't get into FF12. It was definitely a great game and the art design was a welcomed change but i could not connect with or relate to the characters at all.
