There is that so-called curse, where presidents who are elected on years ending in zero (ie 2000) seem to always have something bad happen -- assassination, attempted assassination, severe illness, etc...(we talked about that in my US History class and government classes )

I think he's a good, decent man that doesn't deserve half the hatred and criticism that is pushed his way. I've given Kerry every chance to show his worth and he's failed in my eyes. Thats doesn't mean Bush is God. Just that, IMO, he'll do a better job than Kerry.
I asked a question to fellow US citizens because I wanted to see if any of them could come up with viable reasons as to why Kerry deserves ANY support whatsoever. I am really sorry if you felt left out, but I just wanted to hear from Americans, since it was a question that will more directly affect us. Youre not voting in the election, so why would I want to hear your answer??? That doesn't mean you shouldn't care what happens here...on the contrary, we are one of the most powerful countries on the planet, so you damn well better be paying attention.

1) Tecnicly he never WAS elected, and Yes I am still bitching about that because its a valid point.
2) Iraq. Damn I could have handled that better. Taking us to war on false pretexts is criminal, and makes buch the ultamate Liar. no justification at all for that war, No WMD's No chemicals weapons, the ppl hate us and its turning into another 'nam/Isreal
3) Our economy blows right now, and don't buy that inherited a recession bull. Bush got elected on the biggest economic boom in 20 some-odd years. yes Sept 11th dropped it, thats to be expected but our recovery has sucked and it could have been MUCH better.

There was an assassination attempt on Reagan (elected in 1980), Kennedy (1960) was assassinated, FDR (1940) died in office...there are more examples that I can't remember off the top of my head though.

As for tax cuts, all they do is help the rich get richer. Basically he just threw money at the problem, typical Bush, taking the easy way out...i wouldn't expect anything less.
And how would Kerry hand over america's military to the U.N.? Yeah, Kerry would probably not act on such a big war as the one in iraq unless he had support from the U.N. and that's the whole point of the U.N. to keep an eye over all countries. It's a democracy itself.
But going it alone, like he did, and acting like we represent democracy all over the world when we completely ignored the U.N. was a dumbass move, THOSE types of things just isolate america more from the world, and makes people hate us more....BUSH will be the downfall of America because of this.

Actually, the US's income tax rate (if I remember correctly, it's been nearly a year since I had economics) is somewhere around 38%, which is one of the lowest in the world. Other countries are in the 50-60% range.
The biggest problem I have with Bush is the tax cuts for the rich, when they obviously can pay their taxes. Apparently Bush doesn't remember a little event in history known as the French Revolution
