not including David Niven from casino royale, as, as i've mentioned elsewhere on these boards, no-one ever does, for a very good reason, every JB has been from a different country: respectively Scotland, Australia, England, Wales & Ireland. So in keeping with tradition, where shall the next Bond actor hark from?
As a kiwi I vote NZ, although I'm not sure of an appropriate contender for such a definitive role, eg Not Russell Crowe. But for that matter, I have trouble seeing anyone in the role, regardless of nationality.
?
I dunno, maybe a guy from the channel islands or Feroe Islands....

But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself a question: "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do ya punk?
i suppose it would be widely considered simply WRONG to cast an american, although i have thought george clooney could make a good one if he can do a british (or scottish*) accent.
*interesting trivia note: ian fleming wanted roger moore to play bond originally but he was busy making the Saint for tv so it went to connery (yay for fate!), and he made such an impression on ian that his later novels stated bond's (previously unconfirmed) nationality as scottish.
it has to be British because it has to be
he wouldn't be James Bond without his British charm

Ello, I am Bond, Apu [insert long hindu name here] Bond! Do not steal my twinties or I'll blow your bloody head off. **Meant as a joke** Albert Broccelli only wanted an English gentlemen to play the part of Bond because Bond is English. There can't be anyone else. Lazenby was Australian and he only played the part for one movie. It only did well because Bond fought Blofeld, the head of SPECTRE, played by Telly Salvas. (Forget the spelling of his name). All the actors who played Bond have been English-que since.
