On the front lines of Marvel? Well, the Avengers have been annihilated and a new team featuring Spidey and Wolverine among others has taken its place. Matt Murdock continues to deny that he's Daredevil. The Scorpion was revealed as Aunt May's kidnapper, but Norman Osborn was the mastermind. Apparently the Venom symbiote wants Scorpion as its new host. Speaking of Osborn, his illegimate children just tried to kill Spidey 'cuz Gwen was their mom and they thought Spidey killed her. Colossus has been brought back to life, Jean Grey died yet again, Cyclops has started an affair with Emma Frost. That's all I can think of at the moment.

That's all, huh, Blaque Cell? That's quite enough!
__You're lucky to be genderless, Scibott- have you noticed the brazen salaciousness of some members? Troubling, very troubling. They'll go for anything that posts! What do they think this is, some form of entertainment?
__I hope you're home safe and soon. You know, thanks for taking time to post to us, here in our silly little pond, while you're out there in the f~cking deep water.
__I have heard of Ju-on. I'd like to see it. Another thing to get- there's an anthology I want to get- Mcsweeney's. It's a collection from a literary journal for provocative themes. Stories by Margaret Atwood, Poppy Z. Brite...

I wanna see Ju-on too. The Grudge was okay, but I was ultimately disappointed. Didn't scare me.
Except for those eyes in the security camera. Scared the hell out of me. Jesus, I gotta stop thinking about them...

I like Japanese stuff, but I don't think it's scary, I'd call it more unsettling. It's the imagery that stays with you--much better than the forgettable tripe commonly found in American-made cinematography.

Robo--I've never betrayed anyone's trust, and I don't think I'll alter my policy now. Besides, now that you've acknowledged that trust, I consider you a true "innocent". Therefore, as the resident Lethal Protector, I say,

"WE ARE SWORN TO UPHOLD AND DEFEND THE SANCTITY OF YOUR INNOCENCE. ANYONE WHO DARES SPILL A DROP OF YOUR BLOOD WILL PAY WITH A GALLON OF THEIR OWN!!!"

Scibott--I cannot tell a lie. It WAS you, but I wasn't going to say anything, unless someone else remembered. I'd say you safely fall into that category. Where have you been? (Like I have a right to ask--I haven't been here at all myself lately)

Red--I like the idea of shirtless men. Good idea. Very good.

Blaque--Good Marvel run-down, but I think it's worth mentioning that Eddie Brock has also recently slit his wrists in MKS. I haven't been reading the Avengers, but have been wanting to--since it's the first thing that you mentioned in the Marvel universe, I'm going to go out and get some. I do like Whedon's X-Men, but Jean dying (again) is a bit lame. The Emma Frost/Cyclops thing is good mainly because of the tension between Logan and Scott, I think. But guys certainly do like Emma Frost.
And I did like the Sins Past story with Gwen's kids--it was fresh, and I was very stoked for the issues when they were coming out.

Thanks for the update--and carry on--WITHOUT your shirt, that is.

Badsymbiote, I completely agree with you about the Japanese horror genre. They kinda scare you on a psychological level as opposed to making you jump. Like The Grudge, based on a Japanese horror movie, with those...those eyes that I hate thinking about...gave me the creeps for the rest of the day.
Shame on me for forgetting to mention Eddie Brock! I'm just grasping onto the hope that he survives this. I really don't wanna see the symbiote permanently bonded to anyone else. Eddie was an interesting character. I am glad, however, that it killed Angelo. I found myself cackling with devilish glee as it left him to fend for himself several hundred feet in the air. Kudos to Mark Millar for taking a chance with the character, though. I just got the weirdest idea, but I'm still inclined to wonder...if the Venom symbiote needs a new host, why doesn't it go after Kasady? Didn't he have cancer that was similar to Brock's? It could work, but then there's that whole inconsistency with the costume that Carnage is wearing...
Do you read Daredevil? That's a good book. I didn't bother reading the "Vision Quest" storyling with Echo, but aside from that, everything from "The King of Hell's Kitchen" to the current storyline has been gold, particularly the fight between Matt (without his costume) and 100 Yakuza armed with swords, guns, and whatever else they could get their hands on. Spidey makes a memorable cameo in that storyline, too.

I don't read it as a general rule--I have to limit my interests because I have a tendency to get kinda carried away. But if you recommend it, then, I'll at least check out that arc.

Ahhh, Read Rabbit's Writing on SHH. It has the Venom symbiote approaching Kasady...in the second story. You'll both love it. It's set following MKS.

Welcome back. Here's the news:
All men must remove their shirts for my safety.
Blaque Cell will be an old, old man come November.
Paola and I are engaged.
On the serious side (not that our forbidden love isn't serious), Scibott has been moved to a location where it has had to use its weapon.

I will add my own agenda;

I have no time for writing, wrestling taking over life. Partially broken nose due to painful crossface, 6 pack abs from conditioning. I can't decide if I love or hate this sport.

Will be taking orders for a new wave of signatures shortly.

Broken nose...hmm, I'm sad you're hurting. Is it any consolation that it's quite sexy how you got injured? I should probably shut up about now?

__Yeh, it sucks, but it's part of the game, right? And you want your opponents to be tough. It's impressive that you're in a sport that is one-on-one, so you have a personal risk of losing, rather than a team risk. Do you know what I mean? It's cool to test yourself, and to have something to face that is worthy, so that there's no shame in failure, just disapointment- like climbing a moutain, how many people even try? You always want there to be a harder climb or to do it quicker next time.

I'm getting frustrated with all these new spiderman storylines.....

I wish comics were simpler...like before the clone saga.....(not that I didn't love Ben to death....I just hated how they had all this confusing crap for 10 years, then as a solution they kill Ben....and Osborne(YAH!)

I mean, "gwen's kids"...that just ruins the legend of Gwen Stacy...making it seem like Peter's girl was a tramp.

I mean, like in the 80's it was all so simple.....Superman hadn't died(the first time I mean), RoboTech, G.I. Joe, and transformers sucked up our TV and toy time, madona was still young, reagan was president(for better or for worse), a good old fashioned bad-guy still existed in the world(Soviet Union), and every single rock song that came out had a synthesized flair to it.

Gotta agree with you there. Of course, my TV time was consumed with Voltron and Ninja Turtles. And I wouldn't know one rock song from another.
Yeah, I'm not sure how I feel about this whole thing with Gwen's kids. Right now, my favorite book is the Marvel Knights book. Damn but I hope Eddie Brock survived the last issue.
