The New X-Men are still reeling from the events of last issue, but the real concern is: Where has Wither been this whole time? After leaving the Mansion, Wither set out on his own...but what has he been up to?
Also, what does Selene have to do with all this?!

Exept from the fact, that this series handles the adults, namely Frost and Summers, rather poorly, it is quite cool and has the potential to become one of my favourites...despite the fact, that they have already killed my dearest Icarus.

I really, really liked this issue...lots of references to the dead...and a nice link to New X-Men #28....New X-Men is back up tto scratch in continuity now..
And thanks to this....a show down between Emma and Selene is inevitable...

This book feels uninspired to me. I think this book is destined to become centered around X-23, with her already "winning" the leader's heart, being healed under otherwise unlikely circumstances, and now the upcoming arc centered around her as a crossover with her solo book.
I think the deaths are a sign of lazy writing in search of character development. Death causes emotions and leaves a mark, but it was so overdone and poorly written that it comes across as empty action followed by empty tears.
I've discontinued my subscription since issue 30 and have read the issues that followed at my local Borders, but hope that the book can survive its current string of shock value events.
I have to disagree with you there...on nearly every point you made...everyone gets their time to shine....this arc is Mecury's...and X-23s. When you compare her to Wolverine she's far more toned down then him.
The many deaths occured because there was to many to keep track of...and I don't think it was badly written...getting rid of them all in one go is probably the best thing they've done.
As for the empty tears...I guess it's a matter of opinion because I certainly don't feel they come off as empty.
It's far better then UXM....IMO...which currently is a shambles. I mean First Class is nice and all...but IMO I think it's overrated.
This is one of the better X-books IMO because everyone gets their equal share of spotlight. In the latest interview it was said that the B listers will get their time to shine very soon.
AXM
Careys X-Men
New X-Men
X-factor(Because of Layla)
Are some of the better books....
These are the books that Could be better:
UXM should pick up soon...when Vulcan takes over the Shiar Empire and the X-Men reach the empire.
First Class...I really don't like it...
Exiles...I dropped it after the last issue...due to Claremont coming back.
New Excalibur...nothing special...except for this new arc...with Juggernaut...will drop it once Claremont takes over.
Wolverine...a bit bizzare...not really that good IMO
Wolverine Origins...I'm not impressed at all.
Warsong...not sure what to think.
