I'm sorry but to me boring and too violent (to the point of when they get to the crucification, which is suppose to be the climax, I felt like nailing the man myself just so they'd move along and stop with the cliche slow-mo.) are good reasons.
If I like a movie I do not find it boring no matter how slow it is.
Regardless I gave my reasons for being disappointed.
Thats why its cliché!Everybody does it! Specially those falling scenes
The entire movie is beating the man up, but thats not the point. It just takes too long to tell a simple story.
I suggest you read my review...wait I'll make it easier for you:
Aside from all the fuss around the movie.
Its boring because the violence its to continuous and exagerated (IMO).
Plus the movie has scenes that simply have no point which make it longer then it should be.
I dont feel like I have to defend my opinion. Different ppl like different things.
i'm not really attacking you in anyway. you don't have to make it known about that. its just healthy discussion. People can't understand why i like the movie, and i don't understand why you don't even after all of the reasons.
oh yeah, and Irreversible's isn't sporadic at all!?
a movie based around random occurances.
plus, Monica B's character doesn't die.
and Jesus' violence does make sense. it is probably the most appropriate violence in movie history aside from war movies. Irreversible was good and all, but, you know and i know, the violence just got boring.
"Dont compare the violence in this movie to the continuous violence in The passion. This is realistic (as in ppl do die or are in a comatose state because of it).The passion is fiction, no-one could sustain that. Plus its sporadic and it makes sense...some of the violence in The passion makes no sense."
i just wanted reason on why "some of the violence in The passion makes no sense".
and i'm really sorry.
so, if you don't want to answer, thats cool to.
again, i'm not being sarcastic.
Irreversible has 2 violent scenes, the "beginning" with the guy at the club and the rape seen. He slaps a guy a few times in another scene but nothing over the top. Thats it. And its not radon occurrences. The movie is about fate, choice and premonition (like the signs you are given and should interpret.
You dont know what happens to her. And the guy at the club dies.
The scenes in The passion that make no scene are the ones with the Roman guards beating Christ has he carries the cross. Their leader gave specific orders. They would not disobey!
Also some of the scenes with the devil have no meaning and shouldnt be there.
Thats my opinion.
this movie made me realize how much Jesus went throught for each and everyone of us. he did it out of love. it made me appreciate that love even more. i can't even imagine going through something like that. yes, parts of it were extremely violent but that was needed to show the sacrifice of Jesus. i'm suprised that no one has mentioned the subtitles through out the movie. after a few minutes i didn't even notice them. it started to seem as if they were speaking in english. there maybe some interpreting in the movie, but that does nothing to dimish mel's ultimate goal of showing Jesus's sacrifice done out of love. it is because of Jesus that all of us are here today. we owe him every moment of our lives. i know that i do. i give it a 10/10. Jesus loves me and you!!
if you watch documentaries about the crucifixion process, they said it would be pretty close to what happened in the movie. the intentions were like a war film. Gore in a War movie is essential, and, therefore, gore in a crucifixion movie is also essential, despite what people say or think.
The only reason they kill him was to avoid a mutiny...they had no reason to overdue it. Like hitting him while he carried the cross, specially after receiving orders not to. Making him carried the entire cross and not just a piece like the others (I never got that )
