After months of speculation, Pierce Brosnan finally admitted that he had been fired from the role of Bond, James Bond. While on an interview to promote his new movie, After the Sunset, Brosnan was quoted as saying "It's over, it's over, it's absolutely over.
Brosnan went on to tell the story of his firing, which began with a phone call after Die Another Day, when Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson said "We're so happy with the success, we want you to come back!" With that, Brosnan continued thinking that he would once again don the tux and Walther PPK.
Brosnan says he was willing, even eager, to do a fifth and final Bond, adding that 007 producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson had asked him to return, although no contracts were signed.
It was during the filming of After the Sunset where Brosnan states that his agents called him and said that Broccoli and Wilson had changed their minds. "It's very hard to find the truth in that town (Hollywood) or in this business at times," Brosnan said. "But it was their prerogative to change their minds. They can do it! And they might have done it 'to go younger.'" He went on to say, "It was disappointing. It was surprising. And I accepted the knowledge after 24 hours of being in shock."
Any comments?

That's true, celebrities make way too much money for things that really shouldn't be that high pay. Producers should make more intelligent decisions, why fill those actor's packets with more money when you have many actors just looking for an opportunity. And if they say that they don't have experience, they should look for those who study drama and actually go to institutes/academies to learn something?
Ahhh!! Japanese... Isn't Quentin Tarantino going to direct a James Bond movie or something like that? Maybe because of him a Japanese actor is going to be thrown in there (I write this because of the Kill Bill)
That's all folks!
ah come on, don't get silly now people!
Bond as a japanese? sony can do a lot, but if the brocolli's say no it IS no! Sony has the movierights but the broccoli's have the EXCLUSIVE rights, they have the final veto...
Kal > Tarantino wanted to make a Casino Royal movie, but dunno, got rejected or never got to it?
