True it does depend on where Sabo would be in relation to Ace in this case. Also while the Marines vs Whitebeard is a big deal, the Revolutionaries are more interested in taking down the World Government. Even if news of Ace's inevitable execution were to reach them(and I can't think of how it wouldn't), they have no reason to care about him.
Then again are we to assume this is the first time Sabo has heard of Ace in years? Surely they knew Ace was going to be executed well before hand. Even if the Marines are not the big picture enemies to them they had to know of the new Shichibukai and such. This is kind of a stretch to the suspension of my disbelief.
He ends up in a distant blue. He gets involved in something local, with the revolutionaries. Can't go without abandoning the people there to a bad fate (maybe even new Nakama?), but figures once he's done he'll be strong enough to go find Ace with head held high. He hears about the Execution, but by the time he can get there, it's too late. And that's why he's in the New World now.
Looks like he is impervious to physical pain. Luffy's gonna need help from an army of Haki users.
PS: I think it's odd how his attempts to kill himself has failed. He could've killed himself by eating multiple Devil Fruits or swimming in ocean water.

I don't think Kaido literaly can't die, his suicide attempts are probably limited to flashy stuff and are not meant to be exhaustive. Also he has likely survived because he actively seeks to remain alive. But of course, that's just my impression, we'll see if it gets disproved later on.
Is it confirmed whether Kaido is a devil fruit user or not?
No. There is speculation that he isn't even human. Probably a demon/beast hybrid of some sort immune to Seastone and saltwater. Makes me wonder how Shanks was able to stall him going to Marineford. Also, it seems odd how he didn't know about Whitebeard's death, when it happened 2 years ago.

The Gorosei ain't all that after all, with the recent revelation by Akainu that they are puppets under control of their uppers, the Celestial Dragons. So they are simply just a front of the World Government. That explains why Fujitora had to oblige to Doflamingo's will, him being a Celestial Dragon and all.

Yeah. A good solo fight too. Wouldn't be so bad if he had beaten the giant merman by himself, but nope he had to have help from Jinbei. I like Jinbei but man...I really wanted to see Sanji go wild.
