"Ah but he didn't have the right costume did he? And some of his lines were god awful corny."
He didn't have the wrong one either. Just a different one.
Like I said, I don't feel intimidated by a guy who looks like he's a girl scout. Everytime he would reach into that side pouch I feel like he's gonna offer me cookies, not throw a bomb.
I don't get what makes you lot think you are above and beyond the creators of the characters who deem the movie worthy. If they changed Spider-Man's name and powers, I could understand. They didn't. Yeah sure they gave him genetic webbing but where does Spider-Man's web come from in the comics? His forearms. Where does it come from in the movies? His forearms. The method is different, the principle is the same.
As for someone saying the graphics where bad. The day you put out anything with better graphics than that, I'll agree with you. Until you can actually do better, be quiet.
There is different and there is wrong. And movie GG had the wrong one.It sucked ass.
Don't you think it's strange that practically everyone disliked it???
And who said we think we are above and beyond the creators of the characters???.We are expressing our opinions which is our god given right. So get down off your high horse.
And as for the rest of you who persecute Mr Parker and Bakerboy for not liking the movie the same goes to you. It's their god given right to say they hate it.If that bothers you then tough.Live with it.
yeah really.I dont ever recall saying I was above the creators of the comics here.Man some people around here just love to put words in my mouth.and dont forget Vladimire doc, they viciously attacked him when he first made this post as well.boy the movie goblin sucked ass alright.and so what if it comes from his forearms like the comics dude, the difference is before he was still human, now he's a damn monster.duh of course a man-spider fan like you will never understand that.
Something sucks ass? That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard!
You guys say you never said that you were above the creators, but you imply it with everything you post.
The day you make a movie, just try and make it as popular as Spider-Man, I bet you'll fail miserably.
As for The Green Goblins' costume, it rocked!!
My older brother is a huge Spider-Man fan when it came to the comics. When the movie came out he was super-psyched. Did he cry about Spidey's webbing being organic? no, he loved it. Did he hate The Green Goblins costume? no, he loved. Like a true fan, he accepted those changes.
I'd just like to point out that he's not a nerd, he's actually very 'spunky.'
I hated The Green Goblins' costume from the comics, it looked girly, purple and green? please! and that purse! what is he a girl!?
If he was a true fan he wouldn't have accept such MAJOR changes from the comic book roots.
And you think something sucking ass is the stupidest thing you ever heard?
And where the hell is it written that you have to be a nerd to want loyalty to the comics?
I never expected 100% faithfulness to the comics.I LOVE the Spider-Man movies. But they were far from perfect. The organic web shooters are one major change I could accept.Webbing was still coming from his wrists so it was cool with me.
Dunst's MJ is nothing like the comics MJ.Characterwise I mean. She is a glorified Gwen Stacy.A drama queen in red hair who calls Peter tiger once in each movie and moans at him the rest of the time. That is NOT the MJ from the comics.
And as for Goblins costume. It was plastic.Green plastic. He looked like a Power Ranger villain.Good for your brother if he can accept such a lame costume on a classic villain.
But I think, along with most Spider-Man fans that it SUCKED ASS.

yeah all those points are why the movies are so horrible.Yeah if people ever read the 60's spiderman comic they would see that MARY JANE wasnt anything at all like the mj from the comics that her character was MUCH more like gwen stacy which is inexcusable.yeah good for her brother if he can accept such a lame ass costume that looks like an alien from outer space
first of all... i hated the gg costume... he looked like an action figure...a cheap one imo...
i had my problems with the movies...
mary jane makes my skin crawl... but thats cos i aint the biggest fan of dunst... though i agree with mr. parker that she was almost gwen like...
i thought the second movie could have done with more action, more spidey being a genius n all... not so much mushy shit...
the movies did have some good points though...
the performance of defoe as osborn was great without the suit imo...
molinas doc ock was different from the comics, but had more depth and i felt more actual presence... besides you cant always have insane enemies, it gets tired after a while... u need enemies with a personality...
simmons nailed jameson... he was flawless imo...
maguire... he personified peter imo... he brought the qualities that make us identify with peter to the screen so well imo...
harris as aunt may... nothing wrong with her...
franco... i'm in two minds... sometimes good... sometimes bad imo...
the effects were done so well... i thought the cg was great (and im unvelievably picky when it comes to cg)
after all that do you think organic web shooters are a big deal... not to me...
i know the movies have bad points, but imo the good outweigh the bad...
I don't see what's wrong with the Goblins costume looking like a Power Ranger, The Power Rangers rocked! Even though they don't. Because if you remember correctly, the Power Ranger's costumes were made of nylon, Gobby's was armour.
Better he looks like a Power Ranger then a girl scout...
I wouldn't be a bit surprised if the Goblin came up to my doorstep and asked "You guys want some cookies? it's for a our girls of America meeting."
"Don't you think it's strange that practically everyone disliked it???"
No. Because I don't give a shit who likes and who doesn't like anything. If I do, that's that. I don't concern myself with other humans, I deal with me and me alone.
"I wouldn't be a bit surprised if the Goblin came up to my doorstep and asked "You guys want some cookies? it's for a our girls of America meeting."
Rip off! Stealing my phrasing.
"If he was a true fan he wouldn't have accept such MAJOR changes from the comic book roots."
I'm just as big a Marvel and Spider-Man fan as anyone here. I was raised with these characters. The fact of the matter is this, I want to see them brought to live well and not shit.
You people give comics fans a bad name. No wonder everyone thinks we're all nerds who pick at every single detail, it's coz people like you are so goddamn anal about things like hair colour, costume, everything.
Whether he had genetic webbing or not, it looked great and looked just like it would in the comics. So it came out of his arms, big ****ing deal. He had all the same powers, all the same abilities.
The bottom line is: To those who believe, no explanation is necessary. To those who don't, no explanation will do.
You are just so goddamn uptight about every little thing there is and it's pitiful. You need to realise that if the creators themselves believe it's right to do such a thing, you have every right to voice your opinion but that's where it stops. I don't appreciate you and people like you acting as though we are dumb for liking it.
They give Spider-Man genetic webbing and you are still sad about it. Chill out. They changed him a bit and you act as though your mother has been shot or something.
Peter Parker is not a real life person, so they have to go with the next best thing. You have to accept that not everyone reads comics like we do and therefore they don't know how the characters would act or be in general. So you can say "Oh she acted like Gwen and not MJ" but the bottom line is, she was acting out MJ as well as she could. As well as someone who doesn't read comic books, could.
Thanks, ock , for your deffense. You have made great points. And please, im sick of read the man spider fans deffending the undeffendible, the power ranger costume for the goblin sucked. Plain and simple. If you want to have a great and scary villain in your movie you cant put him in a power ranger suit. That was pathetic.

Yeah you're so right. Why should we care about what costumes the characters get? Thats so anal
We are not nit picking at every little thing. The villains appearance and who is cast as a character in the movie are not little things.Seriously think before you type.
And that remark that she was acting out MJ as best she could cos she never read a comic? Bwahahahahahahaha.Alfred Molina never read it since he was 13 years old.You know what he did? When he got the job as Ock he picked up a f**king comic and read what Doc Ock was like.
And you could see it in his performance. He was perfect as Ock.Dunst on the other hand doesn't know her ass from a hole in the ground when it comes to comics.
So why don't you shut up.If you feel dumb for liking it then thats your problem.Nobody called you an idiot here or implied it.You're the one that came in here moaning that people were complaining about MAJOR things in the movie.
"We are not nit picking at every little thing. The villains appearance and who is cast as a character in the movie are not little things.Seriously think before you type."
If it was a calendar the appearance would be a deciding factor but at the end of it all, I judge on how the part is acted. Michael Clarke Duncan has a completely different skin colour to Kingpin, but he was the best thing about the "Daredevil" movie because he acted the part well.
"So why don't you shut up.If you feel dumb for liking it then thats your problem.Nobody called you an idiot here or implied it.You're the one that came in here moaning that people were complaining about MAJOR things in the movie."
Bakerboys, sig claims that the "Spider-Man" movies are some of the worst evils on Earth. Unless he's being sarcastic, I would label that as being anal. I would label it complaining about major things in the movie, or minor things for that matter.
I don't feel dumb for liking it at all. I'm just sick of people like Mr.Parker, Bakerboy and you poking fun at people for expressing their opposite view of the movies. The reasons these guys have for disliking it are pathetic. Ok yes, I was a bit unsure when I heard he was gonna have genetic webbing but to be perfectly honest, you have to put things in perspective. Supposing they gave him genetic webbing and told NOBODY about it. The whole movie, they never showed him changing web cartridges and never showed any web coming from his actual arm. You wouldn't be sitting here complaining about the webbing then I bet. It's just the fact that they are saying it's genetic. It must be, because there really is absolutely nothing wrong with the webbing or the way he uses it. If it looked like paper and completely false, yes, ***** and moan. But when it looks as good as it does, why do you write the movie off purely because of where it comes out of?
And on this small matter:
"Bwahahahahahahaha.Alfred Molina never read it since he was 13 years old.You know what he did? When he got the job as Ock he picked up a f**king comic and read what Doc Ock was like."
Yes but he's a shakesperian actor. He has made a career out of associating with characters in books. Kirsten Dunst is a hollywood actress. Big difference here.
