USB 2.0... is it worth it?
I just got a Creative Nomad MP3 player; 40 gig. It has support for USB 2.0 and 1.1... I bought the 2.0 card for my computer since the guy at Best Buy claims it only works with 2.0, but it really doesn't. But the faster transfer speed would be very nice; should I return the 2.0 card, or is there really that large a difference between the two versions that I would care?

Yeah, I installed the card, and the 2.0 is significantly faster than 1.1... I copied an album in equal size with each, and I'd probably be impatient as well... only thing that pissed me off is the guy said I MUST have 2.0, or the player won't work. I clearly didn't need it, but it was a very nice speed change.
You are comparing USB 2.0 (about 480 Mbs) to USB 1.1 (10 Mbs). There is an inherit difference if you can get it working. Depending on your operating system, you may need to update your system to handle it better. If the MP3 player specifies it supports a particular standard, then the issue might be driver issues for the USB.
If your MP3 player does not acknowledge it, then perhaps the USB drivers need to be updated. If you are associating with Windows, the 9.X had already problems with USB 1.1 standard. Windows 2000 formerly had issues with the integration with USB 2.0 on certain cases as well.

radioboy121 I am not having any problems with anything being recognized. All of my USB devices, ports, and peripherals work perfectly fine. Please read the thread.
Much of the values that are given for any standard are potential, but are not always achieved. You can see this especially in wired and wireless setups. As to USB 2.0, it's hard for me to even evaluate what the actual rate is when I utilize devices for it.
