Yes, it did
Pretty enjoyable, too... but the ending felt rushed.
Truthfully I can’t even remember the ending!
I only ever watched it once.

[SPOILER - highlight to read]: Sil gives a (really fast) birth to her son in the sewers. The team hunts them down. One of the rats gets infected with that alien dna by consuming Sil's remains.

Ew!
The sequel could have been really Ninja Turtle-y given that set up.

I watched that a while back. I thought it was decent. Felt like it deserved a continuation.

Out of infected "fast pseudo-zombies" films I liked 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later more.

Ah, ok. I was gonna ask what kind of movie this was but you answered my question.
I was always a fan of Quarantine. I thought it was overlooked.
It did get a cheesy sequel, though!

Spieces had several sequels (some theatrical, some direct-to-video), but I've only seen the original.

Haven't seen Quarantine.
But I've watched most of the REC series (1-3). If I'm not mistaken, Quarantine was a remake of REC?

^^^I'd never heard of REC, but Google says yes, Quaeantine is a remake/adaptation! You should give it (Quarantine) a look if you’re ever bored enough. It was pretty decent.

The first REC was really good --- and the first Quarantine film (re)tells the same story (afaik), so yeah, sounds good.

Is the movie subtitled or dubbed? I don’t mind either, just curious!

Awful

Subtitled. Pretty sure they never had the budget for additional actors to dub it. Probably been done post release for dvd and blu ray since though.

I *think* it's available in both versions on the web. Could be wrong.
I've watched it with subs and that's how I recommend it.
Original REC is definitely worth seeing. The sequel recycles the original and dilutes it, but can still be enjoyed.
"Triquel" tries to be something else, action-packed with some comic relief, feels different.
Haven't seen part 4.
