I say yeah it would had made a huge difference. SW came out in a very racial tension decade in America. The Vietnam war was on its last days and racial discrimination was high. Plus the civil rights movement was still in the heads of many people. So yeah defenetly a huge difference woulda happen.
btw-guys I'm sure the originator of the thread meant no harm with his topic. Why not reply with reasonable arguments rather than mockery? Is just shows lack of character from some of you.

If Luke were black and Star Wars (IV) was still successful, then maybe George Lucas wouldn't have felt like courting black fans on that MTV awards thing awhile back with Yoda talking jive and kissing up to Queen Latifah, and being complimented by Samuel L. Jackson, etc.

I've never been a staunch defender of useless threads. I've just been a staunch supporter of letting the mods do their job. Unlike you, i'm not dumb enough to take the time to whine and complain about every useless thread... instead i just let them sink to the bottom or let the REAL mods handle it. Nor do i feel the need to bash on every little kid who doesn't know how not to be a forum noob.
That was funny! But seriously, I don't think that Star Wars would be around today had Luke been cast as a black youth instead of white one. I don't think that America at that time would accept it. But if it actually did happen, it would have been phenomenal. He would have been a good role-model for black children.
