Neither of you know anything about either band lets set the record strait.
Hetfield has always been the lead singer of Metallica, Mustaine was kicked out for being a drug addict not a druck they were all drunks, and Mustaine can out play Hetfield he wrote the lead guitar for The Four Horsemen, Jump in the Fire, Phantom Lord, Metal Malitia, Ride the Lightning and Call of Ktulu. Now we can put this to rest Megadeth is still playing and at this moment Metallica isn't, and by the way Megadeth never covered a Bob Seiger Track now did they or do some corny ass sh*t like S&M. We will now leave it like this Megadeth is my favorite band but if you look only for dollars then Metallica wins but if you want to look for a band that is about the fans Megadeth wins. Metallica has sold more albums but Mustaine is the better musician.
Mustaine was kicked out for being a bad drunk. Now, unless you're their former roadie, or know them personally, that's all you and I are entitled to share, given what we know.
Lest we forget, Megadeth disbanded for 3 years, Metallica kept their shit together, all ego's aside. While Megadeth didn't cover a "corny ass" Silver Bullet Band track, they did absolutly rape Metallica's "Battery" in a fit of Mustaine's delusions of grandeur, and what "might have been".
Naturally, you've got a biased opinion, the likes of which will always be Anti-Metallica, thus not taken too seriously. I'm neutral, Megadeth has a great new album, Metallica's last one was mediocre at best. Fact of the matter is, they are both important bands, but Megadeth never had a break out album like Metallica, ever, which will always be the thorn in Musty's side.
I felt bad after having seen SKOM, but now that I think about it, he's a ****ing drama queen. Bitching about how Megadeth never would equal their success. He, in some sweat pants and some dirty thrift store t shit.
You'd think after having sold 15 Million albums worldwide, he could drop the "woe is me charade" and move on with his life.

about s&m being a corny ass album, it isnt. members of metallica, and mustaine himself were classically trained musicians. call of the ktulu is a masterpiece on s&m, showing how well metallica and mustaine are at wrinting music. why cant a band be experimental?
and about metallica being sell outs? obviously not. they brought out load while being influenced by country, blues and metal. always have been. it just so happens they chose load to release material like this on. and if they were sellouts, why would they have brought out reload? surely an album that doesnt do as well as previous would have made them go back to more justice or black album days?
garage days was a good idea, as it was there to show how metallica were influenced. and the bob seger tarck? well i thought it was a good cover. i dont like the original artist, but the metallica version was a lot better.
and why does everyone slag off the new album? i myself thought it was very creative while using simple riffs and good changes. not a solo in sight? who cares. i certainly dont. they've messed about with solos in concerts for new songs. look for the depth in st anger and you'll find aggressive and meaningful songs, at which stage of course hetfield went into rehab.
and mustaine was kicked out for both drugs and drunkeness, i've read the facts in many places.
i'm not going to say whos better, because i've not listened to megadeath, but surely will do.
My opinion is not one sided I like Metallica but not after the Black album. Metallica built a rep on playing hard music and having the attitude to back it up. In the previous years when you bought a Metallica album you knew what you were buying, but when they came out with Load, Reload and S&M you were like what the F**K is this, which made it corny ass Sh*t. The St. Anger album was much better. As for being sellouts their music changed so much from the Black album to Load and as most people you have been listening to Metallica since they came out most of us list them in the Sellout catagory. Do you think that Metallica if they started out in todays music coming out with Load, Reload and S&M would have made it to be as big as their are I would say no. We can go back and forth the simply fact is they are both great bands, I'm not judging Metallica on their whole body of work but if I had to choose between listening to pre Load albums or post Black albums well it would be pre load.
IM SICK AND TIRED OF ALL THESE BULLSHIT THAT MOST OF YOU ARE SAYING.
MEGADETH AND METALLICA ARE BOTH MY FAVOURITE BANDS, BUT I THINK MEGADETH HAS BETTER MUSIC. AND THE FACT THAT METALLICA HAD BETTER RESULTS THAN MEGADETH IS BECAUSE AFTER MUSTAIN WAS KICKED OUT FROM METALLICA (CAUSE HE TURNED TOO AGRESSIVE WHEN HE WAS DRUNK), LARS ULRICH AND JAMES HETFIELD STARTED TO SPEAK SHIT ABOUT HIM, AND CREATED A REALLY BAD IMAGE!! AND SO MANY PEOPLE STARTED TO HATE HIM. AFTER THIS IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT FOR MUSTAIN NO CREATE A NEW BAND AND ALSO TO COMPETE WITH METALLICA.
AHHH, AND ONE LAST THING, DAVE MUSTAIN IS BETTER THAN KIRK HAMMET!! KIRK HAMMET USES TOO MANY EFFECTS IN HIS GUITAR, AND USES MOSTLY HAMMER ON AND PULL OFF, BUT MUSTAIN IS DIFFERENT, HE COMBINES A CLEAN SOUND OF THE GUITAR AND GREATS RIFFS QITH AN INCREDIBLE TECHNIQUE!! THAT KIRK HAMMET NEVER HAD. AND IF SOMEBODY THINKS IM WRONG IM SHURE HE/SHE DOESNT KNOW A THING ABOUT GUITARS.
FIRST OF ALL, FIND YOUR CAPS LOCK KEY AND PUSH IT. Second, it was DAVE that started the shiut talking from the moment he was kicked out. James and lars hardly ever mentioned dave, BY DAVE'S OWN ADMISSION.
both metalloca and maegadeath are legends but in the end metallica win hands down because they can do metal or just rock but when james can write fade to black and nothing else maters mustaine and tout le monde just dont live up to that.
Why is this thread 9 pages long when Megadeth's lead and main man has claimed to be number two out of both bands, wishing he didn't get kicked out?
Go and listen to Master of Puppets. That's your answer to this thread. Why? Because it's better than most albums ever, let alone anything by Metallica Jr.
