if you duplicate the render and put a gaussian blur ( 4% ) on the bottom one it will blend nice and it will soften up the edges and merge the two together.

I copy my render and stretch it over the whole background then I filter/pixelate it and sharpen it about 4 times.

I love the pixelated backgrounds. Good stuff.

And if you want, instead of making the render look too blurred, to get them to stand out, you can duplicate the render, put a gaussian blur on the top one, and then set that layer to "Hard Light." Then you can adjust the Levels of that layer to get the wanted effect.

I use that all of the time; it makes the renders stand out and almost shine a bit. (See Iron Man in sig)
