hmm.. well its not the killls.. its the contribution points.. you said you were mage?.. buff people and debuff enemies.. that gets alot of contribution points
I had like 2000 contribution points.. and like 178 HK's.. I got sergeant rank (as my pally)

Yesterday I hit TM with a big raid group of lvl 60s from my guild. I just kept spamming AoE's on people and the HKs were adding up. I think I had like 72 in a little over an hour.
I can't wait to go home and see what that adds up to in Contrib Points.

I actually only had like 18 HK up until yesterday. I had always avoided PvP because I was trying to get to 40 as fast as i could.
Now i'm at 38 just cruising along. And you're right, ever since 1.4 I feel bad for TM. The Alliance needs to find a better place to pick on. Like The Barrens.
That'll cause a ruckus.

TM is ridiculous as of late. I've been trying to lvl my lvl 26 undead priest, so I'm right around the lvl where I should be going to TM. Not bloody likely, I'll probably never even set food is Hillsbrad with that character. Everytime I log in World Defense is spamming "Tarrne Mill is Under attack". It really does suck, hopefully when battlegrounds is released with the next patch, it will calm things down a bit.

I've NEVER tried to step into Hillsbrad during my 20-30 lvl area. I went straight to Kalimdor and did my leveling in Stonetalon Mountain, Ashenvale, and Thousand Needles. All of those are more Horde friendly than Tarren Mill.
I did some PvP yesterday with my Warlock. I got to 41 this weekend so I have my mount. I only picked up a couple of Honor Kills though because lvl 50+ still resist about 90% of what I throw at them.
Curse of Exhaustion, when it sticks, tends to be really affective against horder who are retreating to TM. The initial attack was crazy, there were like 40+ horde pulling up right to the Griff Master on their mounts while I was standing there making a bolt of wool for someone.
Just scary seeing all that red.

I'm a Warlock...and not to be a complainer...but it's hard as hell!!!!
Melee classes just eat me alive. I can't freeze them or slow them down unless I spec Affliction with like 22 point (Curse of Exhaustion), and I chew up soul shards like mages drink conjured water.
It's a lot of fun, but it's really challenging for PvP. In duels I'm usually too busy trying to cast a fear to ever even get a hit off.

Warlocks are the most complicated and difficult class in the game.
And don't forget, you can have you succubus seduce them, which basically puts them to sleep for 15 seconds.
A good warlock is a huge pain in the ass in pvp or duels.
There's this warlock on the Cenarius server who is a freaking monster. Unlike most locks he's got all stamina gear on, so he has more health then a lot of tanks. He's so hard to kill, it's ridiculous. And seeing as locks can turn their health into mana...whew, he's a monster.

I do try to use my succubus for duels and solo PvPing but when I do bigger raid groups and stuff I use either the Voidwalker to sacrafice him for another 800 hp of damage absorbtion, or if I'm out of shards I use my Imp because he gives a +32 stamina buff to the group.
My problem recently is that I've got all these points in affliction and only 6 points in destruction. When I get home I'm going to re-spec so that I'm almost all destruction and only 5 points on affliction so i can cast corruption instantly.
I went all the way up to level 32 without realizing that I need Stamina and not Spirit on my clothing.

OMG we raided Orgimmir and we attacked and pushed them through the gate like four times lol..... then they called in like 20 undead mages and slaughtered us..... it was a gaint mage battle lol...... ice and fire blasts..... they had a bunch of netrals walk through as and attack from the rear as we were literally trapped in the gate to ogrimmir......  our pallies and warrior couldn't even get five feet from our line without being slaughtered lol...... and the enemy rogues would try to sneak but the ice and fire from locks would reveal them lol..... we held for a good 25 minutes
