No rogue and gambit are a classic comic couple like cykes and jean, spidey and mary jane, superman and lois. They just fit together and have great chemistry that's why their so popular.

Yes we know it's not because of his powers,do you forget when him and rogue lost their powers for a few months and she was still madly in love with him, which proves she loves him for the sexy cajun he is and not the mutant abilities.

NO, No, no. I'm sure he utilized his charm powers in the beginning, but that is not why Rogue is totally and completely in love with him!
For instance... one of the main reasons she really started to fall for him was because of his persistence, she knows no one can touch her, everyone knows that so everyone would avoid it and Gambit just wanted it. He knew he couldn't and she wouldn't let him but that didn't matter and he wasn't afraid of her. That was the first time anyone has ever been like that with her, not afraid, just totally persistent even though they may never find a way to touch. He was the only one opening that door. ALSO, lets please not forget the many romantic conversations of "maybe we can find out what it's like to have a relationship past all the physical stuff" which he wasn't lying, he knew perfectly well that it may never, ever happen in a billion years. He also bombarded her with flowers, dinners, and all the little wooing tokens of that nature. I mean seriously, charm powers or not, it was in the bag and I am sad you guys thought otherwise. He really went all above and beyond to get her liking and they may have never been intimate, so maybe you are not giving the guy some credit here?
I think some people could learn a lot from this... am I alone???
I think it's fine to not like characters, even my favorites, but i think people need not forget about others and long pig was out of line earlier and even he noted it, hence the 'newer friendlier version' and he was treading into toxic waters with the sexist implements.
Okay, for starters, this thread hads upset me very much.
If you dislike a character, fine, keep it to yourself, or create a thread on *torturing* them, not on bashing them and making them sound ten times worse than they are. There's a difference.
Gambit is one of the sweetest, deepest Marvel characters in existance. His 'charming personality' and obsession with the opposite sex is likely a shield to protect his inner personality. Some people are shy, some people go goth, some people flirt with anything the moves. It's just how it is. *shrug*
And trust me, he ain't gay. His many...encounters with women in the comics should be enough to prove that point without me ranting on it atall. ^_^
I don't prefer the magenta uniform, but later on, he no longer wears it, so that should not even be an issue.
And his eyes are not contacts, as a certian *someone* mentioned earlier on. Acctually, I think if he *wore* contacts at all, he'd have perminent damage to his eyes - they're more sensitive than most of ours are.
And another thing - some people in New Orleans acctually do have that form of accent. Granted, it's not exactly as common as Marvel makes it seem, but I have a friend that lives in the French Quarter, and she has told me they have "the Gambit accent" as she put it.
Please, before starting another bash-fest like this one, take into consideration that you *aren't* the only being on this earth, nor the brightest, therefore you may be wrong about some things. It's your opinion, and that's all it is.
*giggles* Lookit that, I didn't even intend t'rant so much...Nice way t'make my first post, eh?
oh i see, is gambit metrosexual? he wears a trench coat for, oh i was about to "blaspheme" there and on good friday too! really i should know bettter.... :O but yes he wears a trench coat so really i don't think he's metrosexual
*blushes* Geez, I just reread my post, and realized how much like my mother I sounded - outting everything all polite'n' all..*ggg*
An' I'm usually the one frolicking for no reason atall..>.>
Anyway, metrosexual isn't a bad thing. Just means they want to look decent for the world. In some series, he seems to be - other times, not. *shrug* I don't think the trenchcoat has anythin' t'do with that, though...<.<
Yeah, but he could just be really, really horny. Yes?
No, obviously not, I'm sure he was more than attracted to her just as everyone else, but if it were about that he would have just started after someone who he could touch, not to mention just plain old sleeping around. They don't have to be X Men either, he could easily have any lady out there. It's not about horny, and that's another reason Rogue fell for him.
Beautiful Larza, don't feel awkward at all. I sound that way all the time!
Of course I am a mother.... but a lot of people who think poorly of the cajun just don't understand him and it's good to make those points. Yes, he is a ladies man because he is more comfortable with them then most men (probably due to men not liking him you think?) when in fact he is very respectful to them. He is sensative in his way and there is a great reason why ladies are drawn to him and it's not his charm powers.
I agree - Remy loves his Roguey beacuse she's his Roguey! ^_^
*major Romy fangirl/fanatic*
Hee, I feel loved. *hug*
Cool t'know there's an adult on here, namely a mom, who likes X-Men enough t'be discussin' it on a board.
M'mom thinks X-Men in itself is a waste of my time, and can't comprehend another adult being fan enough to eiter RP or write fanfics, or whatever on it. ^_^
