Supes would have to take Black Bolt out before he could say "Ow!!" or groan in pain from the blows he had delivered too. Any use of his vocal chords sets off his power.
And this proved? (besides the fact that you have a nice scanner)
Having a class of strength and TAKING A PUNCH are two entirely different things.
How many times has a character with super strength been knock thru things when they've fought? Thing isnt the Juggernaut, and BB has more than enough strength to knock him off his feet--especially when he was flying at him.
He knocked Thing 100 feet and Thing wasn't even phased. Thing clobbered him and he was groggy from 1 hit. Besides, you already showed him battle with Thor and knock him around a bit, so what does it prove showing him get stunned by 1 blow from a weaker opponent?
The Hulk has eaten Thing for breakfast, lunch, and dinner on many occasions, and Superman can match his strength (for the most part).
If a double axe-handle with a big rock from a class 85 strength opponent makes BB groggy, what do you think a near full strength blow from Superman would do?
Also, anyone with sufficient enough strength can take Gladiator on for a time, and if they were able to knock him around a bit it might even make his self confidence falter, making him weaker.
I never said that Superman would take him out in 1 punch, I said that Superman could use his speed to land a lot more blows than BB, which would put him down for the count. He could also train his heatvision and arctic breth on him while he's doing it.
Besides, it's not like Superman is going to stand in the line of fire when BB screams. He could sense something is up and zip behind him before BB lets it loose--then agin he may just say "WTF is he doin'?" and get blasted.
He wasn't flying when he knocked Thing. Look at it again. And Superman doesn't have Juggy's durability either.
Yeah, and Black Bolt has eaten Hulk for all three courses as well. He takes Hulk's punches as well.
Superman? Because Superman punches harder than Gladiator, Thor, or Hulk? Please.
Yeah, knock him around a bit and his confidence drops. Yup, Supreme sure had Kallark's number. Oh, my bad. I'm using crossovers. Let me try this again. Yup, Thor's hammering away at Gladiator dropped Kallark's confidence. Oh wait, Gladiator nearly killed Thor if Tarene didn't interfere, and Enchantress to help Blake retrieve his hammer. Maybe when he was battling Surfer...oh wait...he stalemated the herald. A big bad maniac like Tyrant? Nah, I don't seem to recall his confidence dropping. He was getting beaten up like everyone else, but his confidence didn't drop.
It looked like BB flew at him, but I guess he jumped--either way he threw himself at him.
Superman is also alot more durable than the Thing.
Yes he has, but in that page he got rocked--literally.
When did I say he did? Oh that's right...I DIDN'T. I said he punches just as hard.
lol, that's why it said might dude. You never know, Gladiator could slip up if an opponent was taking it to him enough.
As for the Gladiator/Supreme fight: Yeah, like one character is going to be shown manhandling another character in a crossover book with a different company
Superman is way more durable than the Thing, Hulk, and of course Fork Dude. Lets see BB handle Doomsday( how do you kill what cant die).
OHH!! YEAH!!! didnt Sup beat DD...
WE BE DUH!!!
WE RUN THESE STREETS!!!!
Wow your kidding me right I mean that blonde dude who was attacking Black Bolt was not as fast or as strong as Superman I mean Black Bolt kicks ass but Superman still comes out on top.
So Marvel Let Thor Job To Superman... You Act Like That Was A DC Only Book... Both Companies Had A Say In That Book... Marvel Let One Of Their Staple Characters Loose To Superman... Sure It Could Have Been Written Differently... But Obviously Someone In The Marvel Hierarchy Decided Thor Was Going To Lose To Superman... Superman Equals A... Thor Equals B... BB Equals C... Simple Logic... A>B... B>C... So... A>C... But That Would Be Too Logical... Aside From The Fact That BB Want Even Considered In Any Marvel/DC Crossover... Makes You Think Huh?
To even out Thor's loss they made it so that Superman wasn't worthy enough to lift his hammer.
Like Bootleg said, both companies had a say about the outcomes. Why do you think Flash punked Quicksilver, but Quicksilver stomped Flash once he went to the Marvel U? Why do you think they showed Superman and Thor get up at the same time after thier fight? Why do you think Batman admitted to Cap that he would get beaten by him? Why do you think Green Lantern whooped Captain Marvel, but the next time they met CM whooped him?
This crossover was years in the making, and the first time they were going to do it Marvel and DC fought over who would lose to who. They couldn't reach an agreement so they scrapped the comic. This time they knew they had to meet eachother half way.
It could go either way...i will admit i think superman is honestly far stronger and durable etc, at BB base level...BB can charge himself up to take on any challenge eventually. And Superman would def be harmed...if not killed by a scream from BB...if window shattering concusions from Doomsday killed Supes, mountain shattering power of BB would really f-him up.
