There is no story after the seventh book. So he could die.

Dude, main characters die all the time. JKR is unpredictable on what she will do, she might just as well kill Harry.

It's true, the back of either the US or UK edition,(I can't remember) was released by Bloomsbury, stating that Harry is waiting for Dumbledore to turn up at the Dursleys. Not a spoiler, since the publishers deemed it ok for release.
