The first two scans gauge what level she was after UXM 109 and before she met Mastermind. The second Claremont explains a little bit about her time under Mesmero's telepathic control and her fight with magneto.
I know what the scans say but I'm not even sure if he was really out-of-body. It seems to me that it can be like Xavier doing a telepathic probe on the other side of the world. It's not that he's outside his body its just that he's concentrating on something far away from him, but I don't really have a problem with him being out-of-body.
What you're saying makes sense but comic writers sometimes don't think in that much detail. There is also another scan of him concentrating on an object far away and it's illustrated exactly the same way. He wasn't out of body in that example and sometimes types of illustrations are used to represent certain powers in use.
Anyway it doesn't matter because even if he was out of body Magento can still control his powers in that way.
It's not like taping a rocket onto a snail. Mags isn't just able to perceive her he was also able to locate her and attach himself to Captain Marvel, so it's like jumping onto a rocket. In order to jump onto a rocket you don't need to just see it but you need to react to it ie jump onto it at the right time. This clearly would help if Superman was bullrushing him at FTL speeds but I think Mags would have to be moving at highspeeds as well.
If that still doesn't make sense can't help you.

many folks. any time there is a thread with a more popular character that involves them using a metal object against magneto people always upgrade the characters object saying its magnetic proof even without prooving its magnetic proof. no proof that its not magnetic proof, like WWs bracers for example.
