Before Norrin met Galactus, he was nowhere near cosmic level being. That's like saying the gamma bomb only had a small part in creating the Hulk. Destroyer was already above other heralds, he was just given power cosmic in lieu of a mind to animate him.
What constitues a win in these fights? I know removal from the battlefield doesn't count, but what does (other than the obvious one of beating the opponent into submission/killing them)? Specifically, im asking about immobilization.
yeah, the drafting is fun because you come out with 10 super cool superheros, but i think that if this were really going to work, instead of herald and below it should probably be superman and below. i already feel like the super heroes are too powerful to really determine a winner. i'd much rather play with jla-x-men-spider-man-avenger level superheroes, than a faster-than-light-celelstial destroyer. . .
Eh, I don't have a problem with the power levels. I mean, the actual heralds all CAN be beaten, it's just not easy. Even Silver Surfer has been beaten before.
Well, I guess your characters better have a defence against that disintegration beam, which will likely be used to begin the fight... I hope whomever matches up against the armor in the first round beats it... not that it worries me
Dastardly loophole Scoob. If I were the rest of you, I'd be whining my butt off to get Evangel to take away Destroyer...sounds too powerful to me. But you gotta love the loophole (*nod of respect to Scoob*)
...and NEVER admit you're scared QF. Voters will remember that (maybe). Just act like you're too much of a bada$$ to care who he picks, so that everyone will think you have a chance until he beats you for real.
Personally, I don't think he should be allowed. Yes, the Asgardian Destroyer served as Galactus' herald for a time, but he was not "created" or appointed herald as per usual for Galactus' cronies. He was loaned to Galactus by Thor, and had been created by Odin out of uru, or some such metal, and infused with godly power to do a bunch of weird parlor tricks. It no will or animus of its own, as it's a lifeless chunk of armor. It only variably comes to be controlled, or comes to control beings whose consciousness' are projected into it. There is no universal form of the Destroyer. First there was Odin or some other Asgardian inhabiting it, then Galactus using it as a puppet, then all the Asgardians in it (whereupon it was recockulously powerful) and then some general or someone similarly ranked, was sucked into it.
And you can't choose characters from specific time periods, and since the Destroyer spent the majority of its existence in Odin's attic, while Odin waited for a millenium before he would utilize it, you get a useless, lifeless husk of metal! Congrats, Scoobless!
