Walking Tall

Sure it's been done twice already, which i have not seen them, but I heard they were pretty decent. Also i'm pretty sure those movies were based on the story of Sherriff Buford Pusser, and portrayed the events of him coming back to his hometown. In this newest version, starring the Rock, Johnny Knoxville, and some other well-known actors, along with some newbiesm, is inspired, in other words all the names, locations, and situation have been changed or updated. I personally enjoyed the movie, its my kind of movie, where the good guy is really good, and the bad guy is a complete *******, who cares only about himself.
The movie is about an army veteran, Chris Vaughn (the Rock), coming back to his hometown after being away for about 8 years. Quite a few things have changed since Chris left, his high school buddies, however haven't, except for one. Jay Hamilton, played by Neal McDonough, was obviously never a real friend of Chris's. Jay has doen well for himself, owning a casino which is the highest source of revenue for the town, as well as the highest source of drugs, sex, and the taking of people's money. As Chris discovers his first night back at the casino, hanging with his friends, the dice at the craps table is loaded. Then all hell breaks loose. Chris is left for dead by Jay's hooligans. Well Chris heals up and runs for sherriff, against a crooked sherriff, Chris wins obviously. He cleans the town up some, before Jay decides that the town isn't big enough for the both of them.

It was a really good movie, and i think anyone with a tender heart, love of movies, and the feeling of getting back at those that did you and your family wrong will like the movie. The only downside i saw... It wasn't long enough.

I saw this movie on Friday and it was a guilty pleasure for the most part. It was a movie that was pretty enjoyable without having to use your brain 1%.

Actually, the part written above about it not being long enough is accurate. We were a little late due to concession tie-ups and went into the movie at 7:32 (it was scheduled to start at 7:20) and were out in the lobby at 8:39.

This movie was great. The rock and Johnny Knoxville were both great in it. But the real star in this film was the director. Such great directing...two thumbs up....but as mentioned above, this movie is really really short...my movie started at 8:30 and we got out of the theatre at 9:45

Not bad! I enjoyed this film. The Rock is proving that he might have some talent after all. Of course with the presence of Johnny in the film he gets some support during the movie. For some reason I couldn't help stop thinking of "Fist Blood" while watching the early scenes of the movie. War hero returning home, Sheriff offering a ride, timber industrial town. But still that didn't bother me while watching the movie.

The best part of the movie is when the Rock walks into the Wild Cherry and starts to smash the machines. I liked that! Also the 2x4 fight was good! I wasn't bored while watching this movie. Characters look convicing, except for the kid, but he wasn't shown too much in the film so makes it easier. Bad guys were okay, but the fight in the Mill was kinda short. Still I like this movie, and I founded to be entertaining.

8 1/2 out of 10 thumb up
