Me too, but it's actually a valid point.

As much as it pains me to reference Final Crisis, Supergirl, Black Adam, and Captain Marvel were around at various points in the arc, but the turning point came when Superman returned.

And I'll admit it, as bad as the general story was, I lit up when it happened.

Generally speaking, in combat Billy is = or slightly > Superman. In story changing plot twists, it's usually all Supes.

Although the "alt Marvel" from Superman in 4d was just excellent. Morrison did a good job writing that version, and you had to love his little showdown with Ultraman.

Superman vs. MM

Both Superman and MM could win. If they were both stripped down (they just had their costumes, no weapons i.e. kryptonite), Superman would definitely win most times. MM needs to be able to look at the person he wants to use his telepathic powers on. The only power which MM has on superman is telepathic power. MM has a reaction to solar energy that has the same reaction as green kryptonite on Superman. If MM had an overload of solar energy (intense amounts), His body would react the same way Superman would to Gold Kryptonite (take away powers permanently). All Superman would have to do is superspeed behind MM and fly away into the sun then finish MM, now just John Jones, off back on earth, with his super intense superpowers because of the sun. If John Jones had kryptonite on him he would just have to pull it out and finsih superman telepathically. But most times Superman would win because MM and superman are good friends and a fight like this would only be sudden, not long term like Lex Luthor, where they would have time to prepare. big grin

I think a better match would be MM against captian marvel. Billy is more suseptable to mind control then supes is. MM can do anything supes can for the most part but on a smaller level. Small edge to superman i think.

Will HV affect MM while he is in his phased state? I vaguely remember a character blasting MM with heat vision when MM was phased, I'm not so sure though.

No, heat vision won't do a thing to him as shown when Prime tried eye blasting him. This fight can go either way imo but if I had to give a majority, I would give it to Supes.

It was some character that shot a purple type of hv at MM while he was phased (was it a daximite?). But you said Prime shot hv at MM while he was phased and it didn't bother MM?

So we reach a contradiction. Anyone has the scene where some super dude used a purple type hv at MM while he was phased. Was it the series where Superman got shot with a kryptonite bullet? I don't remember. I'll try to find it. He had blond hair and a weird costume I think with an S shield or something funny like that. his eyes were dark, purple maybe?

That wasn't heat vision.

Wat the hell was it then? It was from someone acting like Superman or something. It was hv or fire since both MM was being affected and it was in the context of what they were talking about. Just don't know the comic I saw it in.

I always give a slight edge to MM here.
He can almost match supes on strength and speed.
Then he has TK, TP, intangibility, Martian Vision and the breath powers he has.

It was Preus, and it was indeterminate whether it was heat vision or not.

J'onn going intangible for every attack is just as likely as Superman using blitzing from the get-go.

As in, not at all.

If MM was serious he would do this more often. I guess it's the writers fault as well. MM is too powerful sometimes.

Thanks, I knew I wasn't crazy. I though he was talking about MM's weakness during or right before the attack. I could be wrong though.

Only if we ignore both preus and superman's words. Superman has affected intangible beings like shadow demons and Weird. He isn't dependent on preus for affecting manjobber.

There's different kinds of intangibility, though. Weird did it by mass reduction, I think, while MM does the "phase out of reality" thing..
