Behind Enemy Lines DVD
I just bought this dvd and it looks and sounds great. In general, in this genre I prefer the gritty realism of films like Private Ryan and Blackhawk Down. But I like most any movie that really entertains and this one definitely did that. From the beginning to the end the action was pretty much non-stop, one event to the next, and the cinematography and editing were top-notch. The fact that the makers of this film received much support from the US Navy certainly made a difference. Perhaps the most exciting scene in BEL was when an American F-16 was being chased down by several SAM missles, quite riveting.
The sound on this DVD is awesome and the picture quality is excellent, the colors very rich. The two commentaries included, one with the director and editor and the other with the producers, give you a great overview of how the film was made. That, plus the extended and deleted scenes and other extras really made this disk.
