To me, Fall Out Boy isn't the best band in the world or quite as good as all the teen fangirls seem to think, but I wouldn't say they're a bad band. Now, ignoring all labels, they're a fun band to listen to, the lyrics aren't half bad, and they provide enough talent that is necessary to what they're trying to accomplish. They may be a little formulatic with they're songs, but many bands are, and as far as I'm concerned, it's a good formula. I can see why they follow it. As for Patrick (the lead vocalist), I think he's fairly good. I'm not going to claim he's better or worse than Mike Patton, because I wouldn't know, but comparing him to many of the other singers in that genre, I would say Patrick is above average. I must say, however, I'm easily satisfied with vocals... I listen to a good deal of punk music where the vocals aren't that great at all, so I suppose I'm easy to impress. And with that being said, I still think that Patrick gets the job done well. I listen to a wide variety of music and having Fall Out Boy in there somewhere makes for a good change of pace.
