i'm gonna guess it's the blind man game.
for those unfamiliar, it's basically marco polo, but not in the water.
maybe the surrounding area goes dark and Shunsui becomes "it" and has to tag (or touch) his opponent to win... and the game doesn't end until everyone in the area is tagged, explaining why he didn't want anyone else around when he released it, because he'd have no choice but to touch them.

"My enemies are quite vicious and the Chaos armor extracts from them a heavy price for their bloodlust. The blows are meant for me, but it is their bodies that carry the wounds." - Kain, Blood Omen (1996).
And to make it worse, it's not even a clear metaphor. They're based on kid's games... in some abstract way... and the original games aren't explained too well or are made up.
I mean, let's face it, his latest shikai power? It's based on a *Shinigami game* using reiatsu to make false images. That's not nearly as in-theme as "Call a color, hit a color" like the first time he used shikai.
With his bankai? I don't even know. He's probably going to call his game at the end of the curbstomping. Dunno what kid games are 'you get hurt, drown, and die,' that seems not-very-game-like in my experience.
